so somebody on Canuck reddit claims to have played pick up hockey against Kelly Sutherland, (whois from Richmond BC BTW) claims to have played against or with him whatever , and apparently he said he just likes to screw the Canucks over.

if this is true, there is true conflict of interest and he needs to be fired for fixing games. This is a form of fixing games and Kelly sutherland can also rott in f***in hell! We don't have a a f in Stanley cup because hes just biased against the Canucks he can rot in hell!

Johnny Canucker is right.

We are wasting our lives following this sport.

I don't even follow the Canucks anymore, I'm not kidding. I'm just here to smack talk, after last years playoff I was done with this team. too emotionally draining for me, too many injustice. from the draft picks, to piss poor officiating. Something was up, when Quinn Hughes gets high sticked in the face in front of 4 refs 19000 fans, and no call, yea no f*** you NHL.

I don't think there's a single ref I hate more than Kelly Sutherland. Yeah, I'm including Auger.

Bold thought: We are seriously like one solid reliable top 4 defender and health away from icing perhaps the best Canucks team of all time.
When Willander and E. Pettersson establish themselves, I think we can then look at that.

Suprised to see people upset Boeser shot that. He's our best shooter, in alone on a breakaway and he beat the goalie. Post-and-in vs post-and-out can be a difference of millimeters, it wasn't a bad play imo. He also skated hard on the backcheck but couldn't quite get to Rossi's stick.

Meanwhile, 2-on-0s seem to either be an incredibly easy tap in, or a chaotic mess because they happen so rarely and players overthink it. Again, I'm fine with a sniper taking a shot there, chances are the goalie is cheating a bit expecting a pass.

Tocchet needs to find a way to get Hughes' minutes down.

Honestly, Allvin/Rutherford need to find a way to get Hughes’ minutes down. It’s not happening until we make a D trade.

Well…kind of. He didn’t immediately bust his ass since it took a second longer than it should to realize what was happening the other way. I don’t fault him, though.

Ah ok, maybe I didn't catch the first reaction after the miss. I was mostly watching him from around center ice in

Entertaining game and strong effort. Especially considering the road trip was a success regardless of the outcome tonight.

2 points would have been gravy, buy I'm happy with 9 of 12.

Sasson and Juulsen need a bit of love.

Defense is playing hard. Scraping and clawing and doing their best to make up for a lack of talent back there.

Now just need to find those road vibes at The Garage.

Supports the eye test - I thought Soucy had his best game this year. Seemed really engaged and fed off the physicality. Also thought Juulsen was very strong. Took some big hits to make the safe play. Guy is a warrior.

I don't think Petey's even playing at his best yet but he's been huge for us lately. Love how he's stepped up. S*** reffing but great effort from the boys.

If they keep this up, once the reinforcements are back we could be really dangerous.

Hockey can be confounding at the best of times. Canucks probably played one of their best games on the entire road-trip in Minny and still lost in OT.

They won OT games in Buffalo and Detroit, where they didn't play nearly as well. But the teams that finish inside the top eight in each conference, find ways to pick up points even when they're not at their best or are down some players.

Hopefully they get Demko back during his upcoming homestand......and Miller gets back into the lineup before the holidays. One the blueline, they're just going to have to survive by committee.

Not there yet. 2011 team was legitimately the best team in the league and a historically good team.

Hughes on his own pushes this team up several notches but this roster has holes that even he can't make up for.

It was a fantastic game. Even though the Wild had a lot of possession at times the canucks did a great job at preventing them from gaining inside position. As a result there weren't a large number of high danger chances. In all situations I'd imagine the canucks held a 60:40 edge in expected goals as the PP produced a lot of good chances (edit: 63:37 actually). They may have lost but I think that is one of those games we could look back at and say "that is when it all clicked".

Hughes...just wow. How he got better from last year is shocking. And more to the point how much BETTER is astounding.

Garland...in the Hughes feature he mentioned he trained all summer with Hughes. It shows. His edge work is better and he's much more patient with the puck. He always seemed a guy who drove play but was very hard to play with and only Joshua really figured it out. Now he can play with anyone. His shot is still a muffin....

Pettersson...still not skating at 100% but racking up the points again. Last night was the first time I actually saw him try to take players wide in a long time. Skating is getting better but still not at the level he was before (His bursts used to be 75-90th percentiles. He's considerably lower than that right now).

Refs...there were at least 2 obvious infractions on the Wild in OT that went uncalled. Ones that I've honestly never seen go uncalled in the regular season.

Boeser...damn near had the stick lift on the back check to prevent the pass on the OT goal. He's skating well.

Soucy...seems like he is rounding back into the form we saw last year. That will be huge if it continues. Perhaps he's feeling healthy again.

Debrusk...what can you say? He's figured out that if he hangs out around the crease the likes of Hughes and Pettersson are going to get him the puck.

Yes, which is why I had to add the qualifier. The 2010-11 league was also much weaker than today's league.

Who the f saying 6 wasn't backchecking on the gwg? 👓👓👓 🦯🦯🦯🦯🦯👨‍🦯👨‍🦯👨‍🦯👨‍🦯👨‍🦯

I feel a certain kinship with Boeser, even though I've dragged him for the past. RH shot, kinda slow, good shot.

Man, I felt so bad for him. He clearly knows that was the chance and as soon as he misses, he knows what's about to happen and immediately turns and is full tilt back, unfortunately, he's just not a fast skater. No problem with what he did on that entire sequence, it just didn't work out.

This is the first time I’ve ever seen Hughes that low, almost dead last. Cant say I disagree.

I’m amazed how damn accurate this chart is with the eye test.

Looked like he was stunned for a second there that he hit the post, but once he realized it he busted back hard. Sadly, he's not the fastest guy to begin with.
