That it was. Constantly on the edge in 2014 too. That was the year they went 6 straight games with 3 total goals, all by Kopitar. Down 0-3. Three Game 7's. Three OT games at home against the Rangers that easily could've gone the other way. Never a dull moment.

He's just not a Kovalchuk guy, but he also wasn't the coach when Kovalchuk was signed. The plan wasn't to fire Stevens, and Stevens played Kovalchuk.
 
Very happy to see a resurgent Dustin Brown after this organization slapped him in the face via their embarrassing handling of the captaincy. It still bothers me that they thought of that as a solution (it wasn't). Currently on pace for 33 goals and 55 points!

Since the Mayor got one right last month....he's stated (fact anyway) that a TBL scout was at Ontario Reign game and now was at the King / Van game tonight...and
rumblings about a 'big name' King going to TBL for pick-prospects. Hmm. (Cernak coming back! lol. He's up with the Lightning now. Saw him play Sunday and he looked good. RHD) Cernak 3 assists and plus 7 after 8 games.

Continuing the scout dialogue... #TBL has Gerry O'Flaherty at the Kings v Canucks game tonight. He watched AHL Ontario on Sunday before taking in Kings and Oilers.

Am excited that Vilardi's pro career about to launch in 48 hours!

TBL ::: Kovy???? (play with Kucherov) Carter? Toffoli? Muzzin? Going to look over the TBL prospect list now. Cal Foote?? RHD

Kovalchuk was one of the most productive players so far this season.

It would be one thing if Kovy bombed the entire season, but he was one of the best on the team until WD came in. Making plays, scoring,
and was probably best forward offensively. WD wanted Gold at the Olympics and he has a BRONZE medal at home. Kovy took GOLD.
WD has so much Canadian pride and saw Kovy beat him in the 2001 WJC and then 17 years later, take Gold and WD took Bronze.
WD has been around Team Canada for over 20 years in some way. It's his #1 pride. Kovy trumped him 2 times. SO now WD has power
and treats him like a 19 yr old rookie...actually worse WD on Kovy::: "he's an interesting player" LOL. He's the best player
you've ever mis-coached.

Agreed. His time on ice and linemates were much different from 2015-2017 versus last year and this year.

Yeah, the solution was really removing the mind-f***ing coach who did everything he could do to kill his career. Both Lombardi and Sutter were complicit in this.

The only reason Brown is still on this team is because no team would take on his contract nor did VGK want him in the expansion draft. If taking the C off his chest helped light a fire under his ass and get back to playing the way that was expected, then awesome! You'd prefer him still be captain and having 11-goal seasons? GTFO
 
I didn't watch the 3rd or OT but I'm sure Kovalchuk got at least 10 minutes of ice time right?.. Right??!

Sad, but true. Not sure why Sutter had a bug up his ass regarding Brown.

I understood moving the C from Brown to Kopitar but I thought Brown should at least kept an A.
I am a big sutter fan and a big brown fan and even I know that once the team locked Sutter out of the room he needed to be canned. Instead he lasted one more year
