ASF: Inside the organization, the feeling is that the trade is not great but acceptable. ASF says Zito felt he knew he was the only guy in and wanted to make what was a fair deal.

This one is going to be the killer:

ASF: "broken relationship" between Fletcher and Giroux. Doesn't think Giroux will come back while Fletcher is here, and Fletcher isn't going to look to re-sign him. He thinks that if Giroux would've taken a hometown discount to come back ($4-4.5M), it would've happened earlier in the season, but now that is "zero"

It's apparently part of a chain Zito set up. If the Panthers were somehow to drop to the top 10 this year, the 2022 #1 they traded to Buffalo in the Reinhart deal would become the '23 #1. That required a condition on the Chiarot deal where if they don't have their '23 #1 as a result of the Reinhart deal, the pick becomes the '24 #1, which would then impact the deal we just made, forcing the pick to be delayed to '25.
Holy 3D chess

ASF on Snow the Goalie podcast: Giroux was willing to open up to more teams if Fletcher was willing to guarantee that he would bring him back. When that was not promised, Giroux was not willing to open up to more teams. Briere was involved in this somehow.

Currently listening at 1.25x speed, so I may update this, or just keep posting

True, but it's a lot more believable when it's not shilling for the team. This makes them look bad, so it doesn't benefit him at all to make it up, like the other lies help the other shills.

For sure. Just saying that all media is shit so let's acknowledge that this isn't a guaranteed to be true, either, that's all.

I think it probably is, because Fletcher really is that incompetent, and Fletcher really wanted Tippett that bad, but..

Looks like good management to me.

The Philadelphia Flyers management and executive group is now worse than the Washington Commanders football team management and executives. The Flyers are officially the worst run professional sports franchise in my view. This move reeks of something Bobby Clarke would have done, so yeah, I'm certain he was influential in this deal. This is pathetic. And just wait until the press really starts getting on them and then they'll try to throw Giroux under a bus. You know it's coming.

His name came up. ASF said that if he was ever on the table that the trade would've been done.

He does say that if for whatever reason Fletcher is fired, that would change things. Like I (he) said, Briere was involved here, and that was done for a reason, and that was mentioned before when he was made an assistant

Obviously, you have to consider the source, but there's absolutely no way the Flyers could live down telling Giroux he's not welcomed back in free agency (likely on a team friendly deal as well). I never thought I've get to the point of hating this franchise, but alas, here we are. Clarke is legitimately ruining his legacy, and the longer this goes on, the more the mainstream knuckle dragging fans are going to become aware.

I trust Giroux's judgement. And he's not the first good player driven out by the unbelievable incompetence. He will not be the last.

By the way, all three of these guys, who have torn into the organization, feel that it would've been nice for Giroux to play ball a little more.

But he was given an NMC, that was his right.
