I’d do that for him at 50% retained or drop KniesNylander Murray Knies 1st 24 to San Jose for Erik Karlsson. 33 percent retained
Literally more than what SJ paid OTT. lol. I would trade Tavares (assuming he waived) for Karlsson, that's about it.Nylander Murray Knies 1st 24 to San Jose for Erik Karlsson. 33 percent retained
Samsonov received a QO and is arbitration eligible.Unless they have an arbitration case coming up there won’t be a buyout window for them. That ship sailed. Not to mention like I said, no chance they carry the $2m next year

So then buy him out.Nothing lol worthy about it. We’re not paying a 1st to get rid of a guy who can be bought out for a pretty small amount
That's the plan, unless someone wants him between now and Aug when the 2nd buyout window opens. So then buy him out.
No one “wants” an oft injured goalie that has an 8 million dollar actual salary this yearThat's the plan, unless someone wants him between now and Aug when the 2nd buyout window opens.
Leafs could attach a draft pick/prospect and retain some salary to make it happen, "if" a team were interested. If not then buyout in August, pretty simple stuff. No one “wants” an oft injured goalie that has an 8 million dollar actual salary this year
What do you think the asking price would be for a team to take on his cap and 6M salary? Bearing in mind that its a limited number of teams due to Murray’s NTC.Leafs could attach a draft pick/prospect and retain some salary to make it happen, "if" a team were interested. Buyout is the only logical option.
I have no idea what other teams needs are and what they are thinking. The other team could trade for him and buy him out. Murray may be open to being traded to more teams given the fact he needs playing time and a chance to rebuild his career. Leafs could retain salary. He could be included in a possible Nylander trade. Leafs could acquire Gibson from ANA, and move Murray out. Who knows. They have a lot of time to figure it out. Obviously if there is no fit, the default would be to buy him out, as the cap hit is only $687k this year. What do you think the asking price would be for a team to take on his cap and 6M salary? Based on reading other Leaf fans posts, isn't there an issue with Murray's cap hit next year which would happen in a buy out scenario?Oof. That combined with how few picks Toronto has to facilitate offloading him makes a trade look really tough. Buy out candidate?
You could pretty much copy this article and replace smith and Edmonton with Murray and Toronto.

It's not a pipe dream because again, he played less than 30 games. He was unavailable for 50+ games. By the time he is healthy, someone else is hurt and then he comes back plays a game and is hurt again
If they trade Samsonov in the deal to get Gibson, ANA could buy him out. Or a team with an arb case can do so as well.Only team that can buy him out is the Leafs.
That would mean he has accepted his QO of $2m, which is unlikely. He's worth about $3m on a 1 or 2 year deal.Samsonov has to file for arb by 5pm today or buyout is off the table
