Played our backup the last period. They didn't look like they were trying. Hey 5 goals on 5 shots and they weren't difficult shots either. We took 44 shots on the net, not 74.

what did you want them to do? they stopped the celebrations long before 16 goals.. they can't just stand there and pass the puck for 35 minutes without taking a shot on goal.

Honestly no hope when you have 14 skaters playing for the second straight day and against Canada. But that backup goalie for Germany was just horrible. One of the worst stances I've seen in a long time, absolutely no mobility, and brutal reaction time. At least 6 goals were easily stoppable, 2 giveaway goals by each tendy, and the buzzer beater overturn is a rough go.
 
Disappointing game for the lads. Didn’t show any class and kept running up the score.
It’s in the hockey gods hands now.

I can absolutely guarantee you that none of the German players are pissed off about Canada running up the score.

They will be pissed that they gave up 16.

However, They would be even more pissed if Canada had let up or toyed with them they way I might with my 7 year old. Now that would be disrespectful, although that seems to be what some wanted them to do.

Same feeling, I'm disgusted by this display of running up the score on an inferior opponent and especially considering they were down to 3 lines and shorthanded on defense too. Hard team to cheer for other than the Canadian jersey on their backs

I doubt any U.S fans feel hard to cheer for their team and it's currently 11-0 in that game.

If that sort of thing makes fans unable to cheer for their team the teams probably don't want or need their support.

The USA-Austria game is just as ugly. Honestly I hate it when the tournament gets like this. It's just gross.

I suggest a change to the tournament format is sorely needed to split the teams into smaller tiers. Say 6 teams in each tier, the 6th place team drops down each time in favor of the winner of the lower group. You could also have a full round robin in each tier and then jump straight into the semis. Obviously it would be more entertaining and less sad than this?

lol. Give me a break with this hockey god garbage. Canada played 60 minutes to ensure they are playing the right way and not making mistakes. It's not their fault Germany is awful. Besides, these type of games are always blow outs. Go back and look at previous years. It has made zero difference. The better team usually wins these tournaments. The tournament format and the way it's laid out is to blame.

It was Seider's choice, and even if it wasn't, it'd be stupid to let a guy who's currently dominating men go to a tournament where he can absolutely demolish kids, only for his team to not make the medal rounds, and then he has to miss two weeks of SHL play before and after the tournament to quarantine.

Even if COVID wasn't a factor, it'd be stupid. With COVID and quarantining, it's a no-brainer.

Forfeit the game if you don't want to get scored on anymore. Game is meant to be played the full 60 minutes. What should have either team done after going up by 10? Just sit in their zone with the puck or just skate around and around making them look even more foolish? This stuff I hear about running up the score is chicken shit. If you don't wanna give up goals then I suggest you change your gameplan, adjust, and don't give up.
