Hockey gods are just getting Stutzle ready for what life is gonna be like with the senators.
I agree. He is getting ready... To turn that franchise from rebuild mode to playoff contender.

He through the entire weight of that shorthanded squad on his shoulders tonight and looked like the 2nd coming of McJesus!

He was Resilient, Persistent and showed a lot of character tonight.

Kids a shoe-in for the Hart one day.

Are the German players laughing about this game? To me there was a lot more going on tonight than just Canada v Germany.
Why did some of our guys work so hard to run up the score?

They didn’t. Could have been a 25 goals game if they wanted to.

Their goalie was horrible. Should have been a 10-2 games. Canada scored many goals on what should have been routine saves.

Just calling out a dumb argument.

This wasn’t a blowout because:
- It’s Canada vs Germany
- Germany played games with just 14 players two nights in a row
- Germany’s goalies had a combined .500 SV%.

It’s because Canadian players thought they should have been drafted over one German.

Makes sense.
What Canadian players think they should have been drafted over Stutzle? Where did Holloway, Mercer, and Schneider say "I think I should have went 3rd overall". I'd love to see that quote.

Again, you just sound really insecure about Stsuzle's standing. Obviously Germany had no chance going into the game, no need to get worked up about it

Nah it's clearly a conspiracy to punish players drafted third or higher. Third overall Stutzle suffers the utter humiliation of an unprecedented and unpredictable blowout from vengeful Canadians. Dach has his arm literally ripped off by Russians who were foaming at the mouth. Canadians won't even pass Byfield the puck or finish off his passes, hence his lack of points against Germany. Lafreniere, Hughes, and Kakko all knew that they wouldn't make it through one game unscathed and stayed home.

Think about it. It makes a lot more sense than team Canada going through the motions and pounding shorthanded Germany.

Because goal differential matters?

If you dont want to get scored on 16 times, find a goalie who can stop a beachball.

Really excited for him to join your young core. Hopefully MM can get his game back as well.
Im a Jets fan Gpaps. So i dont think Stutzle will be joining us anytime soon ;)

But, never say never because (unpopular opinion alert) I would trade Laine for him in a heartbeat.

Sidebar: MM retired back in ‘04

I think you’ve misread the thread. I was specifically replying to a poster who said that Canada ran up the score to “prove a point” to Stuetzle because some players didn’t think he should have gone #3.

I said that was a dumb perspective that is extremely unlikely to be true. There is likely no Canadian player who thinks they should have been picked above him, and even if they did, draft position had zero to do with the score of this game.

How did that Caufield not score? Ahh replay showed an Austrian got his stick in there, good defensive play.

Big hit by Kleven

Edit: this should be in the USA v Austria GDT.
