GDT: Germany Vs Canada | 12/26 @ 6PM ET | TSN/NHLN

Canada did nothing wrong. It's silly to suggest otherwise.

Hopefully if another team (besides Canada) ends up with 12 points, the goal differential will be in our favour. With games against Slovakia and the Swiss remaining, and us at +14 after one game, I can't imagine otherwise.

Are the German players laughing about this game? To me there was a lot more going on tonight than just Canada v Germany.
Why did some of our guys work so hard to run up the score?

I really hope you’re right and players like Brayden Schneider, Dawson Mercer and Dylan Holloway actually think they should have been top 3 picks over Stuetzle. But I somehow don’t think their heads are that big.

It wasn’t a case of running up a score as much as goalies not being able to make a save.

This is an odd line of thinking you have.

There was very little intensity from Canada after the 1st period. Bad shots just went in. It didn’t look at all like anyone was trying to prove a point. I don’t think anyone was trying to run up the score. It just happened. It’s not like they had 65 shots and a bunch of breakaways and big hits.

But hey, sure, they really showed Stuetzle! I’m sure he’ll be mad when he’s pulling an NHL paycheque next month and most of team Canada is waiting for the junior league to start up!

This is Division I international competition, not charity beer league. Tough situation for the Germans for sure but nobody should stop playing because of the score. These aren't Peewees out there.

Might not happen all that soon but with a German and a Swiss player winning some major NHL awards last year I think both those countries could be entering the B tier of hockey countries soon with the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

They skated around a series of rubber tires taking shots on net.

This is nothing mystical. Canada is gifted a joke of a round robin. Now they just wasted a game playing 20 on 14. Even ignoring skill your playing against a team that is too gassed to hold a stick. So now Canada is gonna use that wonderful goal differential for an even easier semifinal match up. So were gonna have a final game likely against the Russians who've all been laced up for the KHL. So we're gonna have two competitive games before going up against a well oiled Russian bench.
