This is a massive moving of the goal posts.

This isn't a second rate team against the best in the world.

This is 14 players versus 20.

Canada doesn't have to take it easy, the could simple play 2 out of 4 lines for the 3rd period. Give some valued practice to 6 of your forwards versus giving 12 of your forwards the day off.

At the end of the day the german players as individuals will look better for simply staying in the game.

For the rest of the tournament Canadian stats no longer matter.

This has nothing to do with superior talent this is exploiting a technicality.

And that greed will now hurt the team as they just lost any effective value as this being a practice.

Canada doesn't even have the chl up and running which puts us at a major disadvantage against the american(ncaa)/russians(khl).

Look i’m not happy at that game either, I feel horrible for Germany and how they can regroup for their next two games. But i’m just saying this happens every year, regardless of who they’re playing against or what their situation is.

As much as I love all the Stuetzle talk as a Sens fan, Sabres fans should be very excited for Peterka. I think he played very well given the circumstances tonight. Him and Stuetzle vs Switzerland and Slovakia should be very fun.

It is evolving. Again, blowouts happen and will always happen in sports.

Why on earth would you rest players? You realize most of these kids have barely played hockey since March, right? You obviously want to give them as many reps as possible before the games get serious. They literally had a single tune up game.

A) Playing 2 lines per period would give the same amount of ice time per player.

B) You aren't getting a work out if you aren't lifting any weight. If they want to skate around taking shots at a net, I'm sure a trash can or two would work just as good.

Cozens was the best player on the ice by a country mile.

Peterka and Stutzle performed admirably, and Canada is clearly the better team but to suggest Stutzle was better than Cozens today is flat out wrong.

And if you switched Stützle for Cozens, are you seriously claiming Stützle wouldn’t have racked up points? Conversely, are you seriously suggesting Cozens would have carried the corpses (not JJP but the rest) on the German roster?

We won 16-2, and (imo) some of our guys played like they had something to prove. Often Canadian teams take their foot off the gas when they are clearly the better team. They didn’t this game.

It’ll suck playing with Chabot, Tkachuk, Sanderson, etc!

Ottawa will be one of the better, more exciting teams in the league within 2 years.

Whether they’ll pay up to keep the players together, who knows, but I think Stuetzle is going to taste the playoffs pretty early in his career.
