I find it pretty disrespectful to stop trying to score goals. Are they supposed to try and protect the German's ego or something? It sends a pretty bad message. The point of the game is to try and score as many goals more than your opponent as possible.

The point of the game is to score as many goals as possible? Where on Xbox? I thought it was to win which they have handily done. I'm not saying they stop trying which would be offensive I'm saying play hard and trap. There is no sportsmanship in this at all, move the goal posts all you want this is an embarrassment.

They shouldn't have goal differential count.

I never criticize teams for running it up if it matters in the rules.

Blame the IIHF.

People on here if Canada didn’t score as much and sat back: “Lol Canada only won by a few goals against a depleted German team!”

People on here if Canada runs up the score: “Canada is so disrespectful in continuing to play hard”.

Cannot win with these cry babies.

If they stopped playing it would be tactically stupid...

The IIHF made the stupid rule of goals aggregate, not Team Canada...

So keep playing hard Canada, just no hot dogging and over the top celebration antics...

Stick to business..

It’s embarrassing how much you’re crying

Byfield has been completely useless. He’s the latest in a long line of players that were selected over more talented players because of his size and “potential”, even though superstars over 6’3 are quite rare. Yet somehow GMs keep favouring tall players in the draft.

Feel bad for these guys. Fourteen skaters is ridiculous
They should of gotten Draisaitl play, this is just awful for the growth of the sport.

I honestly don't get how this works. You have 14 people on the team, Draisaitl is the greatest german player ever.

Why wouldn't you make this happen?

As a player, there's nothing worse than your opponent taking pity on you. I guarantee the last thing Stutzle would want is for Canada to stop trying.

Again you can play hard and close out a game like this defensively. This is why I hate cheering for my country in international hockey, our fans are so damn thin skinned that suggesting blowing out a short handed squared is poor sportsmanship is disputed somehow. Get a grip guys.

Goal differential can play a part in where you get slotted in the next round .. there is a wide margin between the top teams and the bottom teams.. and Germany is likely better than a couple

I actually don't think playing these weak teams does Canada much good. Its not representative at all of what they have to face to win this thing. They get lazy on back checks .. don't finish their checks like they should .. its pond hockey
This is bad coaching, they should just bench 2 lines per period.

Have a newhook line and mercer line, call it a day.

Again it sounds like you have a problem with the IIHF and their tie breaking rules.

In a tournament where seeding can come down to goal differential and total goals scored it is not. I guarantee you that elite level athletes don't want any pity or sympathy when they're getting their asses beat.

Just turn off the game. You're obviously not having a good time lol

Looking more and more everyday that Tim Strudelz is going to be closer to a Marco Sturm than a German McDavid.
