GDT: Germany v. Canada 23h30 UTC

It is interesting right, if Canada doesn't beat lower teams by enough the team isn't good enough because they didn't beat (insert team) by enough. When they do beat up on the lower teams they are being disrespectful and "karma" or the "hockey gods" will get them lol
All that matters is how they fare against the contenders. For years I watched Michigan beat up the Rutgers of the world by like 60 only to struggle against Ohio State and Michigan State. These kinds of games only mean something to the German players who wouldn't ever sniff the NHL.

That's asking for a very bad kick in the ass moment in the future.

Also, you're not building confidence by seal clubbing.
after the garbage effort they put together in game 1, id be happy to see them just totally dominate until the end of the game

The wish by some to have teams censor and throttle their play in some misguided form of penance for being very good is just wrong. It's one game. Act with class and keep playing your game.
None of this in any way implies that Team Canada and coaches thinking they have everything figured out. I bet they know darn well they have lots of work to do.

Right but what is the line? Where does it cross over from respectful win and a disrespectful win that will come back to bite them later? Is it 6?7? Or just when people feel like it. If you can put the puck in the net you put the puck in the net. Just don't be actually disrespectful in celebrating the goals or shit talking while doing it.

I understand that running up the score on a poor team is rough on that team, but you don't win tournaments by slacking off. They should play hard to the end, nothing to do with karma, nothing to do with respect, it's to do with work ethic and continuing to improve and refine your team. Again, I very much understand it sucks for the other team and I empathize with them, but it's a world tournament. You do what you need to do to win at the end.

You continue to play and win by as much as you can and just stop being an arrogant bitch about it and keep your mouth shut.
Actively stopping to play is disrespectful and so is trashing on your opponents verbally. Do neither and there is no problem
This.

I've been on the losing end of games like this. It's worse when you know the other team isn't trying anymore. I'd prefer the other team keep playing hard and make me work to keep it under 15 than let up and still beat me by ten goals.

That’s not fair. Germany has a bad team this year but they just got Silver in the non-NHL Olympics which is still great. Austria is probably due a relegation this year though
Austria want even supposed to be here, they're just filling in for Russia. As for Germany, they almost beat Sweden last game, so I think they're fine. Playing Canada on the second game of a back-to-back was always going to be brutal.

They're playing back to back, and their second string goalie is in net. They are usually quite good at employing a trap to keep games close.
Apart from one misunderstanding it's not Wolf's fault though. There's nothing he could do. Hopefully Tobi Abstreiter releases him for the final period

Especially a very angry Team Canada.

They can score as many as they want, and they'll probably look unstoppable against an Austrian team that's scored none and given up 20 in two games. But if they look flat against Sweden on the 31st then they'll just be a team that beats up on scrubs.
