It’s just one game, but if he puts together a few of these, does he get a taste of the NHL this year?

I am sure this has been posted before but will post it again. Merkulov is on an ATO for the rest of this season, his ELC doesn't start until next season.

I think I read he handled the pace of the AHL well last night. Does he have NHL speed? I’m excited to see more of him but I’ve been fooled by the hype before.

looks sweet but wouldn't mine adding some beef/muscle like pending UFA in a Nicolas Deslauriers or Ryan Reaves up front and Josh Manson or Erik Gudbranson behind the blue line.

His ELC is an NHL deal a two-way I believe, that doesn't begin until next season. Also John Beecher is on an ATO (Amateur Try-out) for the rest of this season, but hasn't signed his ELC as of yet.
Someone more in the know can elaborate and/or even correct me, if I am wrong, on either case.

Be a nice future line with Beecher and Lysell in the AHL. All three can fly on the ice.

Lysell as the finisher and Beech to play both ends and be physical.

Having Lysell + Merkulov together would be the AHL equivalent of Pastrnak + Hall together. Beecher is a good fit to do the dirty work, as you point out. Not all that different from what Haula is doing right now

I view Merkulov as the Pasta and Lysell as the Hall though. Just from what I’ve seen Merkulov seems to be more of a trigger man (well, aside from yesterday lol) and Lysell seems to be that playmaking, creative wing that Hall is

What was his draft status? Nobody even took a flier on him his eligible years You can’t take his age out of it. He’s 21. Three years older than the first rounders we will see in June. I find it strange to label an undrafted 21 year old freshman in college a first round talent. Would anyone not trade him right now for a 2022 1? but I digress. Pulling for him and hoping he becomes a top 6 at some point in time
