Not many highlight videos. Here is one(several years old). Terrible choice of music (I just put it on mute). Also some parts in the middle isnt the best quality

- 1st highlight right out of the gate. Drills. Handle looks good. Shifty/light on feet

- @0:26.... nice burst of speed and goal(top corner)
-@2:40 ... makes nice anticipatory back pass
- @3:50 ... dipsy doodle against two defenders. Two defenders run into each other.
- @4:13... practice drill. Nice 360 spins. Tight spins

Seems to have what all great goal scorers have and that's the ability to find the open ice and he kept moving his feet to where ever it became available.

Can’t wait to watch him, I haven’t looked at the contract yet any chance we see him this year?

At least on a PTO in Providence or is it too late?

Too lazy to google.

4. Georgii Merkulov - Wing - Ohio State - Boston Bruins

After a very strong freshman season with the Buckeyes, Merkulov left school early and signed with the Bruins recently. The former Youngstown Phantom (USHL) standout led Ohio State in scoring and goal scoring. In fact, he had double the number of goals of Blackhawks prospect Jake Wise, who was second. Merkulov is an extremely creative and skilled player. He is lethal on the powerplay with his shoot first mentality and ability to create further time and space for himself. His wrist shot is a major asset and gives him significant scoring potential at the NHL level. He could prove to be a real diamond in the rough for the Bruins, who obviously became enamored with him after checking in on top prospect Mason Lohrei at Ohio State.

Maybe he can give the 1st PP unit a lesson on having a shoot first mentality on the PP :naughty::laugh:

Imagine one day.... Lysell and Merkulov highlight reel potential

Sweeney had to give up high picks at the trade deadline. Looks like a strong recovery

That seems good. "Merkulov had 20 goals and only three players in D1 hockey had three or more goals than he did— Ethan Frank, Aidan McDonough and AJ Vanderbeck."

Seems like a wild stat. How many players had 20 goals? 100? How many players had 3 more goals than him? Wild weird line to draw that stat

It's not a weird stat at all. He outscored Ben Meyers. He scored as many goals as Beniers and McLaughlin. The only other freshman anywhere close to Merkulov is Coronato who went in the first round and scored 18/
