The question is, if he's an NHL center. I see he's left shot, but with Russians that often means playing right wing. Both

Offence first hockey players are bred in Russia in factories :pThe question is, if he's an NHL center. I see he's left shot, but with Russians that often means playing right wing.
Why a wing? It's possible, but with Bergy's contract up, and his age, and Haula's up after next season, shouldn't we be looking at Georgie as a Center first?
None. Zero. Zilch. His contract is for next season.Any chance he see's some time in Boston this season? McLovin with some ice time.

Wow interestingI do remember him scoring an OT goal at the old Garden. He pingponged between Boston and Providence and faded, kind of like the great Dmitri Kvartalnov. As for Merkulov, great to sign a first team All-Big Ten player, such is the Bruins' college pipeline.
FIRST TEAM
Matty Beniers, F, Michigan
Ben Meyers, F, Minnesota
Georgii Merkulov, F, Ohio State
Owen Power, D, Michigan
Brock Faber, D, Minnesota
Jakub Dobeš, G, Ohio State
I think the post-Bergeron years may lead us to a different mentality. We will see, the organization likes bigger centers than Georgie is. And honestly they want/need their centers to be strong 200 foot players. I suspect he will be developed as a winger, but anything is possible. Looks like he was 3rd on his team in overall faceoffs, and won 55%
Also, 0.0None. Zero. Zilch. His contract is for next season.
I think his 200 foot game is better than he is getting credit forAlso, 0.0
Gotta think he’s going to be a winger - they want him to be creative not having extra responsibilities their centers have
It’s known how good Bergeron is and Krejci was underrated as a 200 foot player - but Haula & Coyle are strong defensive centers
Could the Bruins land Ben Meyers ? He knows the Bruins staff
Not sure what other DC he went to besides Boston and Toronto
That would be good and I’m sure they noticedI thi k his 200 foot game is better than he is getting credit for
How much room is there on this kids frame? Does he look like he will be 181 long term or could he be expected to put put on 10 or more pounds? I know he’s a goal scorer, is he a good player on and off the puck? I know people don’t love comparisons but I would."He led the country with seven game-winning goals, was a plus-18, and won 55% of his faceoffs. A left shot, he is listed at 5-foot-11, 181 pounds. "
this is true. besides samsonov i dont recall one russian ever working out for Boston since I have been watching in the early 1970's. Zhamnov or whoever maybe considered some success but not much. We shy away from signing them its obvious, not sure why but look at other teams and compare them to the Bruins over the years. We simply do not draft and rarely sign Russians.Feel like the Bruins rarely target Russians
Don’t know much about him but sign me up for more prospects!

That is too bad, I was hoping he would be an NHL player not a minor leaguer. Hopefully he is much better than Zinojviev and Kokolachev, which really should not be too hard as both were spectacular busts. Some comparisons to Zino and Koko the great.
