Never played it but i heard its a really good game

The graphics were amazing on the ps4. I enjoyed the gameplay and the story.

I recommended it to the people that were in line with me to get the ps5, and unsure of which one of the 3 games to get.

With all the new games out I wouldn't have it at the top of my list of games to buy. I'd put it in I want a new game, but don't know what to get safe pick.

On a side note I picked up Hades for $20 at Walmart. It's a hack and slash with some interesting dialog. It was a good buy for $20, but I wouldn't buy it for more than that.

Have been playing Horizon 2 since Saturday afternoon...my goodness that game just looks incredible visually. You can just stop and look around and everything has detail. I don't have a top of the line brand new TV but it still has HDR/etc. and I'm not sure I've ever seen such a good looking game. Someone else said it well, this is (so far at least) the first time I've felt like I'm playing a next gen game.

I'm liking the combat again too, but I'm not surprised with that with how much I liked it in the first one. Excited to spend a ton of time with it.

It's a great time again for games...Elden Ring in a few days, Final Fantasy VI pixel remaster coming this week. I feel like I'm missing some other ones...I was interested/intrigued by that Triangle Strategy game but we'll see how the reviews look.

The graphics for Horizon 2 are much smoother and better rendered on the ps5, it looks amazing. The other thing I noticed right away was how the r2 button (draw bow) for the ps5 is different than the ps4. The tension/resistance on the ps5 controller surprised me. The 4 controller has nothing like that.

I dont know about console pricing but it launched at 20€ on PC, so you're unlikely to pay more than that for it.

Target has a bunch of games on sale. NHL 22 was $20-$25 (depending on the console).

I was looking at cheap games and came across Ravenous Desires for $5. This is the game's description: A horror cooking simulator where the secret ingredient is crime. Improve your shops, buy new tools, expand your menu, and above all, make your customers happy.

I bought it for the wife on Steam (it's on the PS also). Her description (giggling the whole time) is the bodies go splat and blood flies everywhere when grinding them up. Note to self: don't buy the wife a huge meat grinder.

Cooking sim, time management, and horror games aren't my cup of tea. The quality of graphics is the much better than I expected for a $5 game. This is just a niche I didn't know existed.

Ha! That's pretty great. There are so many games out there. Sometimes I go through the games on sale too just to see what's out there.

I feel like I've hit a little bit of a lull with games. Don't have quite as much time with trying to golf as much as possible, but haven't really loved anything I've tried lately. I bounced off Triangle Strategy (thought I would really like it since I liked Octopath Traveler), kind of bounced off Deathloop (might go back) and I just haven't had a ton of fun playing Dying Light 2.

I do still have a few others I want to try...have the Guardians of the Galaxy game, still have Cyberpunk, and want to play Returnal someday. I also still have the Final Fantasy VI pixel remake to play. In the meantime I've been replaying Yakuza 0 and playing some Slay the Spire. Just going back to some fun stuff.

I did a fantasy draft, no cap for funzies. Here’s my wild team after a few trades. Wallstedt in net of course.

I'm going through my installed games on Steam and cleaning up that hard drive. There are some I haven't played since 2012. I've tried a few of them that I played a lot of hours at some point and I just don't like them now.

There is also a bunch of games that I haven't ever installed or played. I think most of them are ones that came in a bundle of some sort. I'm a sucker for humblebundle.

not gonna lie, it is very dissapointing to find an old game and the memorie pop back in and i goto play it only to not have any interest. that cuts deep.

Steam sales are deadly, too. The amount of games I've purchased that I find sort of interesting for $2 and then never played could cover the full cost of all the other games I've gotten on sale and did play.

Some games just don't age well. My tastes have changed over the years I guess also. I have found a couple where the mods I really liked were outdated and it's not worth the effort to find updated/similar ones.

It is fun to rediscover some old games that just got buried on my steam list.

I've done that more than I want to admit. Spend $20 on 5-10 games in hopes that one of them makes up for cost of all of them. I've gotten better about it with the all the gameplay videos that are out now. Spend 5 mins on youtube and it's saved me from a bunch of those $2 games.

If you're big into Indie games, I recommend splattercatgaming for a channel

Feels like there has been just an insane lull of games that I would be interested in. Last game I bought, played, loved, was Elden Ring. That was, what, 7 months ago? Restarted both Cyberpunk and AC Valhalla. Both are fine.

If you're specifically looking at AAA games, I would agree. The Indie scene is coming around. Tons of good games being launched IMHO.

To be honest, I think this is the way. Only buy games you have a strong desire to play, even if there's big lulls between them. This will save you a ton of money. For me this means I'm stuck playing Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and Divinity: Original Sin 2 until Baldur's Gate 3 comes out. Or, who knows, maybe Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord will leave early access first? I can dream.

Oh damn, I just looked it up and apparently Bannerlord goes full release on October 25th! Hooray!

I second this. Thanks to him I really want to play Citizen Sleeper. I'll get around to it someday.

I feel the same way. I've been looking for awhile now for a game I can sink my teeth into. The Switch has some promising exclusive games, but I don't like the Switch.

I'm bummed the video store up the street closed with COVID. Renting a PS game for a 3-7 days was usually enough to get my fill of it.

I really miss playing PC MMO's but there aren't any out that I want/like anymore.

Oh, how are you liking WotR? Loved the first pathfinder game.

Edit. I should just buy it. Forst game rocked and I love listening to Pathfinder actual play podcasts.

The gaming industry (for AAA games as mentioned) is in the worst spot I ever remember. Microtransactions, season pass models, and releasing games not even close to finished (Cyberpunk, Halo Infinite, Battlefield, etc.) are putting a bad face on the industry. But they don't really care. The whales will still pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for characters skins for whatever reason.

All I play these days are Rocket League, Warzone (it's in shambles as well), Apex Legends, and Slay the Spire. All of these games are years old. Nothing has really been able to catch my interest in the past few years. I think the only newly released games I've played in the past couple of years are Metroid Dread and Halo Infinite.

I really wanted Skull & Bones to be great but it’s been delayed again for who knows how many times this is now. That genre is lightly tackled and could be so good…

I saw a video that mentioned the only reason it's still being made is because they had an agreement with the government of Singapore that required them to release it by a certain date, but that it's been effectively mismanaged and botched beyond repair. Hopefully they can still release a somewhat entertaining game, but it sounds like it doesn't have much support from Ubisoft even now.
