Another fantastic win. No panic whatsoever. Leading players have stepped up and thats why gold medal is 60 minutes away.

Chill out  IMO it was funny before and now and I'm Jokerit fan.

Before: KHL-Jokerit WTF, FU Erkka!
Now: Well there isn't much Jokerit players anyway.

I have not called the team as Jokerit, not before the tournament and will not do that after the tournament. I'm just not able to cheer for Jokerit, no matter what.

There was alot of this Jokerit talk everywhere, when we were losing the games, even in hfboards from many users. Karma is a *****. :)

I dont really care what team the players are from.. It was just so terrible to watch Finlands games in the group stage. Barely any changes to score. Other teams still managed to create multiple changes to score every game.. ( not just in powerplay)

But yea.. I dont care where the players come from as long as they know what they are doing.. ( in group stage it didnt look like that :amazed:)

I know. But i didn't really understood that crying and losing mentality at all. Many wished that suomi drops before QF.

Well, I hear you bro. I personally saw that actually really childish .. I mean there is hate for one team in hockey, and then there is that, what it was. It's our national team after all.

Erkka's style: players as individuals/humans > game tactics

...................................................................................................

No, tulos sanoo, että Westerlund päinvastoin teki kaiken aivan oikein. Ja se on rohkaiseva alku uudelle suomalaisessa jääkiekossa, jossa voidaan siirtyä insinööriajattelusta asioiden ytimeen. Ihmisiin.

I have to say I didn't get this argument. If anything the team is heavily dependent on roles, and starting everything from the defense. How is this team built on the emphasis of players as individuals as opposed to game tactics....???
Read the column.

Obviously game tactics is part of the plan but not the main thing.

Read the column.

I did, and while I respect Rantanen as a hockey journalist I found it a whole lot of words with little content. Erkka=innovative, great coach because he creates an enviroment that supports player confidence? This is the stroke of genious that is carrying us in this tournament?

J. Jalonen = All about tactics, bad player management
Erkka = Good player management, less tactics

It's interesting to see what path K. Jalonen takes...

Erkka is like hand shaker (käsienheiluttaja) and other finnish coaches are more like engineers.

Overcoaching from other coaches. Keep it simple stupid from Erkka. Character is what wins you these games. The team only needs to have certain tactical frames and rest is up to the player.

Erkka just seems to be a guy who has some luck when it's really needed and God/Satan knows that most of the Finnish teams during the 90's and 00's just lacked that piece of luck to get some more Gold medals (they really deserved at least a couple more than what they have now).

This is just a natural payback, getting a nice medal with a D team. Just get used to it, Finns - you can always medal with even 15-20 no-name scrubs as long as you bring the sisu and great teamwork/discipline --

And I don't care if this is a jinx:

- tonight just make those russians on the ice and (belo)russians in the audience to stand up and listen to that great Estonian/Finnish anthem

Does southern Finland also celebrate if it happened that we win? :D

I could be we end up on silver again though.. Russia is so clear favorite :/

Everyone I know wants the Good Guys to win today, so there will definitely be a celebration all over Estonia if Winland* wins (again)!

*Winland = Northern Estonia

If Finland wins, they will top the IIHF ranking for the first time in history. Not that it matters much but someone might find it interesting

I heard that Saukkonen had signed Teräsbetoni - Taivas lyö tulta niin mtv3 last night.

Is there any video on that?

Who is the more popular commentator in Finland: Antero Mertaranta or Saukkonen?

Somehow Mertaranta was funny to listen for no speaking and understanding Finnish listener.
