This board really overrates Fayne. I think he is our 2nd best defenseman, but that isn't really saying much.

so if you believe he is the 2nd best defenseman, why is he being benched? Does that make any sense?

Even if the defensive group overall is underwhelming, you put the better of your options out there. Clearly, Deboer and or Stevens don't seem to abide by that.

Yea that is my point. For what I see I think Fayne is great, but my opinion doesn't matter. Pete and Stevens clearly do not like what they see from Fayne.

dude half the guys on your list got traded for LESS than that.

I am not sure what the hell point you are trying to make.

There's probably one or two players who didn't fetch a solid return and two others that were cap dumps... but at the end of the day, you asked if any better options got moved and I supplied you with a list.

I don't care what the return is in all honesty, I want talent on our blueline and I don't care how it get's done. Heck, I wanted to move Parise for Weber like 5 or 6 years ago, so you can see that I don't care who goes, as long as it makes us a better team, that's all that matters to me.

Losing him for free will hurt more so then the other players we've lost in the past for the soul reason that there's 3 other options we're presently dressing who doesn't deserve to play over Fayne and I'm certain he'd resign here in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the benching he's getting ATM.

With that said, we'll lose him for free this summer and still continue to ice a Harrold-#28 pairing the following year.

No coach is prefect. He was the one that form the Gionta, Carter, and Beriner line. That line was the main reason why we got to the finals.

I wouldnt say main reason, one of the reasons sure

but they are not effective anymore and need to be broken up.

pete keeps holding onto things that worked 2 seasons ago. it's getting tiresome.

bernier has been totally ineffective on that line, after having a good preseason. gionta offers absolutely nothing.

I'm not sure who else they'd waive. And we continue to see the Volchenkov-Harrold pairing. One of the worst pairings in the league, and I'm not even kidding. Lottery teams all have a pairing like that. Too bad we wouldn't even qualify for the lottery this year.

Bernier was playing with better linemates during the pre-season and looked great. Now he's stuck with Gionta and it hasn't been good. Josefson should really be on that line with Carter and Bernier, would probably work better if given a real chance.

I don't get the obsession with Harrold. He's sucked on the power play, he hasn't been that good any other time. Wasn't he even the extra attacker the other night against Winnipeg?

Gionta should have been the one waived to get to 23 players at the start of the season.
