Well I'm saying that in going back to your original point, I just don't see Lou being given the Heave-ho by the owners after they just acquired the franchise....at least not this year.

Though I'm sure he'll get an ultimatum soon enough if things do not get better...I doubt Lou is that oblivious.

Yeah, I guess you're right.

I do think that if we do miss the playoffs and that Marty hangs'em up, that Lou will just decide to call it quits as well.

It's not Lou's fault that Kovy decided to retire.

It's not Lou's fault that Zach decided to get married to Mrs. Suter and move to Minnesota.

It's not Lou's fault that Travis isn't living up to his contract.

It's not Lou's fault that Henrique has yet to show any semblance of an offensive game.

It's not Lou's fault that Marty is 41 years old now and isn't the player he once was.

Only the Volchenkov contract falls on Lou....

And besides, the FACT that he managed to acquire Schneider to shore up a position that is and has been a CRITICAL component of the Devils franchise for decades, will prevent him from getting "his walking papers" no matter what happens this year.

Next year, though...All bets are off because he WILL be on the hot seat if the Devils miss the postseason this year.

I'd say that if Travis and Henrique do not live up to the contracts that lou gave them, then yes it is on Lou. As is not having a draft pick this year(assuming we are a non playoff team). And if Lou does not re-up Schneider this offseason?

Though I do agree, new owners are really not looking to get rid of Lou. I think Lou's presence was an attractive piece of the purchase.

just keep that in mind.

edit- nvm he isnt UFA.

He's under contract for the remainder of this year + 2 more years. He's currently 34, so his contract wouldn't be the "Roslton" type where we'd be screwed if **** doesn't go our way.
