if zubrus gets a say on the song, he might most certainly choose some version of SNA like this hahaha

i love SNA, but i really hope that we don't get some remix like this if it's picked up

Wait but don't the Islanders use SNA? I recall their line of fans at the Rock singing SNA almost the entire game.

I guess they are ok with Flyers swallow because it only happens once or twice and TV usually doesn't catch it? Where as the goal chant rings through every time? I mean it is still a losing battle because it seems people find inventive ways to incorporate put downs into chants.

But ya, that was the right thing to say PSEG. Give us a good alternative chant and the crowd will get behind it.

Yup. I wrote a very long a thorough e-mail, one I thought they wouldn't bother reading, and they actually used it in whatever focus group/meeting they had. It was refreshing to know I didn't waste my time and having my rep quote parts of the e-mail confirmed that SOMEONE read it.

I recommended the Hells Bells be rang with each corresponding goal (once for one, twice for two) and I also recommended the very simple and clean Seven Nation Army chorus.

"Gooooooooooal"
DEVILS
"Goooooooooooooooal"
etc...

I posted it in the old thread that has since been locked. RRP2 isn't coming back, ladies and gents. Let's just hope we pick something that's not Bon Jovi.

I really wish you sent them a long email about why RRP2 should be the permanent goal song forever. I'm not even kidding, there's nothing that can be chosen to replace it.

The ONLY possible cool alternative to chanting "you suck" would be "YES! YES! YES!" but Daniel Bryan already took that gimmick and the Devils would come off as second rate if they stole it

I never understood why anyone would be offended by "you suck" and it really really angers me that the chant is the only reason why RRP2 was taken away. Seriously, society needs to grow a set of balls.

Islanders sing it when going on a PP

TG hit 20k followers earlier today. He gets some flak here on hf but honestly he does an amazing job covering the Devils. Not to mention I can't imagine it's the easiest reporting information on a team run by Lou.

It would be nice if he didn't seem perpetually grumpy, but he is a good beat writer.

"Blood from a stone" seems to be the best way of describing Lou's interviews.

He's a nice guy in person, I met TG when I went to see a Devils game in Pittsburgh a couple of years ago. Chico and Steve also were at a bar after that game and Chico was ****faced haha.

there are so many things you can do when your team name is the "devils"
being evil, creepy. there are so many options, and marketing chooses to ignore them.

lol I like how they touted "tradition" in that lame opening night video, while planning on taking a huge dump on 20+ years of tradition later that night.

If Gardiner is on the market I would hope were in on him but our only real assets were recently signed to long term extensions. (Henrique and Zajac)

Gardiner eh? They can have Boucher, Josefson, Tedenby, any draft pick, and possibly Severson... hell trade Fayne if you're not going to play him.

We don't even have a roster spot for Fayne and Gélinas, so why are we talking about possibly adding Gardner?

Because Lou needs to take out the garbage. If he's not going to play Fayne, trade him. Harrold and Volchenkov should NOT be here. Tedenby obviously isn't making the team. Gionta should be sent down.

So we're basically moving out garbage for a potential top #4 d-men that can also play on our PP?

I'm not against your analysis when it comes to the players that shouldn't be here but at the end of the day, I think we have the solution right in our own back yard. We just need to bring up Gélinas and send #28 to Albany, sit Harrold in favour of Fayne and voila... we're already a wayyyyyy better team without making any trades.

I'm just praying to god that Pete and Lou talked to #28 and told him that he had about 20 games to prove his worth to the team or else they were going to send him to Albany in favour of Gélinas.

Gardiner is a damn good piece, don't get me wrong, but we don't necessarily need him. Like DATW said, we already have the solution to our shoddy D. The problem is actually executing the moves that would make the team better--like demoting Volchenkov, sitting Harrold, and incorporating Gelinas and Fayne into the lineup every night.

Agreed. The players are there, it's just a matter of utilizing them.

I don't see Gelinas being called up though while we're on this West trip, i'm sure it would be a pain in the ass getting there.

I don't see Lou making any type of move when talking about our roster until the 20 game mark and that includes the promotion of Gélinas.

There has to come a time where management has to face reality and cut #28 from our 22 men roster. He's not NHL material and is borderline AHL material. He's on the same level as Hall Gill and the only reason he found a job was because the Flyers have a even worse blueline then we do and he's still going to get utilised as a #7.

If we didn't add any speed up front while adding several new players, it has to come from the backend. We need one of two things from our blueline and that's either speed or a quick transition game/counter attack, in order to get the play moving in the right direction as quickly as possible.

To me, that's probably the only reason why Harrold is in the lineup over Fayne. He's faster and he can see the play a little better offensively but outside of that, Fayne is by far the superiour player of the two.
