Ya I want Gardiner but not at the expense of Larsson. But you have to give to get sadly. And I don't think we have anything worth to get Gardiner.

No, only player I would think to trade Larsson for is JVR or Kessel

Thanks for the responses. Obviously Kessel would be way too much for Larsson. JvR may also be a slight over payment, but I could see what there is to like. It's funny, with big guys like him, Rick Nash, etc... they never seem to put up the same dominant numbers that their play suggests, but when you watch them play, they're beasts. Sometimes I think JvR is the best player on the ice but it doesn't amount to much. I guess part of the reason is because of the amount of work he does that doesn't get him points by going to the dirty areas (front & corner...especially the front where he screens the goalie and takes a beating), gaining zone control, strong on the backcheck, etc...


I really think Gardiner would be a great fit on the Devils, and the same goes for Kulemin. I can't really think of what you guys would trade for them other than Zajac or Larsson. Maybe something around Henrique for Gardiner? But has he really regressed like his numbers suggest?

Is there any chance Larsson could be moved? What is the scouting report on him? Was I right to say he has a big frame but isn't physical, can transition the puck well but isn't an offensive dynamo by any means. Most likely he's a minute eating player but not a #1, someone like Paul Martin but a RHD and slightly larger?

My rep called me a few minutes ago. Told me they received my e-mail and they met with the president of their team and talked through possible solutions to the problem. The issue is the "You Suck!" That's the impression I got.

Long story short: Expect some way to get us involved. I asked if something would be done for 10/19 and wasn't given a firm answer.

I do appreciate the reach out though. I did pitch RG's Running with the Devil and Seven Nation Army. She said she'd add it to the list for consideration.

Yup. I wrote a very long a thorough e-mail, one I thought they wouldn't bother reading, and they actually used it in whatever focus group/meeting they had. It was refreshing to know I didn't waste my time and having my rep quote parts of the e-mail confirmed that SOMEONE read it.

I recommended the Hells Bells be rang with each corresponding goal (once for one, twice for two) and I also recommended the very simple and clean Seven Nation Army chorus.

She talked to me about how when she was in college her school did the exact same chant. And because of the chant, it was removed. She said that her school gave alternatives and eventually the fans got behind them.

So while she wasn't direct, I think the parallel does communicate it pretty clearly.

I also outright said "I know that you guys must be worried about the 'you suck!'" and that's what led to her story.
