Faber joining the rush, 1-0 Minny. Every shot on Portillo so far has felt like a quality chance.

Johnson sort of started the rush by pinching off his man in the d-zone and they had an easy clear by Nevers who was back in support.
 
Again, letting people walk right down the alley and Lucius scores. Knies with a slick feed to set the table. Portillo isn't getting a lot of help (which is normal in my viewings of the Wolverines). Johnson picks up the secondary. He's been on for both goals for so far.

feels like watching the sabres (luke hughes = dahlin, portillo = dell).

i can't say I've actually noticed owen power do anything, but Minny is getting grade A's left and right while he's not on the ice, and nothing while he's on

What I've noticed is he's the only one back and protecting the crease area. I don't like him with Blakenberg as much as with Holtz.
 
Power forechecked off the puck, which goes through THREE Wolverine forwards on the way out to the slot before Johnson puts a grade A shot on Portillo.

Portillo bales them out and then is swimming in the crease trying to get back up.

Lambert had a nice strip of Johnson a moment ago.

And Dylan Duke makes it 3-1.
 
While that fourth goal is a Power's pair of misplays and then Blankenburg being a blank, Hughes has been scorched tonight for three against.
 
Portillo out, not surprised. Not his fault but they need to do something.

Bordeleau with a tip and it's 5-1. Huh.

McLaughlin's the Minny forward I've liked the longest. Watched him in some HS games and was impressed prior to him heading off to the USHL. I still think he makes a nice mid-line winger as a pro.
