Hope everyone is well right now. Stay disciplined these next few weeks. It's gonna be rough for a bit.
I think the worst day will be around Jan 15, case number wise. I think ICU and hospital with start going down in late Jan

Then as the great philosophers The Beatles once said, it'll be getting better all the time

Anyone who gets the vaccine let us know of your experience. I hear there could be side effects.

HAHA. Just had a sore arm for a day. One thing I wanted to take a moment to dispel is that there is a difference between side effects and adverse effects. All medications have side effects. It's the adverse effects we want to avoid because those are considered harmful. 2nd dose is Jan. 9. Will let you all know.

Adverse effects are the things like anaphylaxis, swelling,
Side effects of steroids are like nausea, headache, trouble sleeping, intense hunger, moodiness etc.

I read that Kaiser in NorCal has already given out 30,000 vaccinations so far to employees They moved super fast.

My brother is a first responder, he told me in his city, if you are under 17, no matter the ailment, they have to take them to a children’s hospital right now.

waves

Woke up today feeling oddly superhuman, did the stupidest thing possible and went for a walk and a shower. Now feels like I got my ass beat by a bunch of raccoons.

My 67 year old brother passed on 12/29 , he had compromised immunity ( had a bone marrow transplant in april but never develop new white cells ) .

Me (64) and another brother who is 68 and who lives with me have had it for 3 weeks with minor but persistent symptoms ( mostly fatigue ) . My job has sick leave carryover and i have over a years worth of sick leave so i'm ok in that regard. DO WHAT EVER YOU CAN TO SLOW THE SPREAD.

Condolences on losing your brother. That is a tough one.

Holy shit, the ICU number actually went down for the first time in weeks. Sure it was only 1 but...
I think we are due for one more spike from New Years. I think we will see those cases in the ICU by 1/15 and hopefully it is all progress from then on

Except for this new strain / mutation business. That is very worrisome.

Indeed

The early reports are is that the new strain is simply "more contagious" but no reports on whether it is more deadly. This would fall in line with a virus mutating for it's one good, more hosts and (hopefully) less deadly to those hosts so it "thrives"
What have you heard?
