Shaping up pretty good. Levi, Portiallo, Power, Costantini, Huglin... you want winners in the org.
Haven't heard much about Yaniv Perets G from Quinnipiac. Looks undrafted, maybe I'm missing something. He's got better numbers than Levi, though maybe ECAC isn't as impressive as Hockey East (and he's almost 2 years older).
McLaughlin and Giles from BC are both available to be signed, if we are interested. McLaughlin gives us AHL center depth option, Giles can score, and they are both right shots. McLaughlin should get interest from many teams.
Shots Against per 60:Quinnipiac is a machine though - they remind me of the Motzko-era St. Cloud teams that everyone is just the same and everyone knows what to do and where to go. They're deep and defensively smothering as anyone. NU on the other hand... is not. Levi has to work for his outcomes in a way that Perets has not. Perets has faced 447 shots to Levi's 885. I'm not sure Perets is putting up a sub 1.00 GAA facing nearly double the shots on goal.
Here's the top 10 Hobey finalists....bonus for you guys with Devon Levi. I'm picking Meyers, McKay and Trevigno for the Hobey hat trick.
Matty Beniers, University of Michigan (Seattle Kraken)
Bobby Brink, University of Denver (Philadelphia Flyers)
Luke Hughes, University of Michigan (New Jersey Devils)
Devon Levi, Northeastern University (Buffalo Sabres)
Nathan Smith, Minnesota State University-Mankato (Winnipeg Jets)
Dryden McKay, Minnesota State University-Mankato (undrafted)
Ben Meyers, University of Minnesota (undrafted)
Yaniv Perets, Quinnipiac University (undrafted)
Bobby Trivigno, University of Massachusetts-Amherst (undrafted)
Brian Halonen, Michigan Technological University (undrafted)
Yeah, I noticed that too. A bit of a snub if you ask me. I actually think Hughes has a legit shot at HB.It is interesting that Power was 1st team Big 10 and Hughes was 2nd team and then Hughes is a top 10 Hobey guy and Power isn't.

I wonder if NJ fans stuffed the ballot box more than Sabres fans? The difference in selection committees - similarly Faber was first team and he's not in the HB list either.
Hobey selection is pretty peculiar sometimes. I think Hughes gets the nod because of his offensive output as a frosh. I think he's a worthy candidate, but the voters don't give freshman the shine they deserve traditionally.Yeah, I noticed that too. A bit of a snub if you ask me.
