I had season tickets from 2006-2009. It wasn't pretty. They would sellout games here and there. The attendance numbers on espn's site are based on tickets sold if I'm not mistaken. Getting people show up to the games for all the tickets sold was a chore. I know because I repeatedly gave tickets away that went unused or were just flat out turned down. That's part of the reason I got rid of my season tickets.

I'd have to imagine the attendance the Kings are getting now is about as good as they've had since Gretzky was around.

It's those damn black seats that deceive my eyes then ;)

It's hard for me to blame individual players when then entire squad is sucking simultaneously. It points to something systemic. I love Sutter, but I wonder if he's the right coach for the job at the moment.

Uh, yeah. Anyone claiming this team doesn't have major problems at this point is just kidding themselves.

This season is starting to feel more like 2006 than 2012.

I don't know. I think people forget just how low things got in 2012.

^ "Don't badmouth Columbus!" You're in our GDT after we played Columbus. What the hell do you expect?

Yeah?

What about Dallas? Always looks empty on TV there as well.

It's Dustin Brown's fault. I know how much they love him.

In what game was that 1 point? Down the street in Anaheim. That's a crazy stat.

You've never seen Doughty lose it on the ice over the years? I'm joking around about it when it comes to Muzzin, but Doughty has been known to be let his emotions get the best of him. That comes with being young though.

Muzzin, while the 2nd most talented defenseman on the team, has been lucky Doughty wants him as a defensive partner to the exclusion of anyone else.

I really don't think Doughty has much of a say. Muzzin is there by default because Mitchell can't keep up anymore and Regher never could.

Very worried about the team. We are allowing too many goals and when we don't, we give up bad ones. We can forget the playoffs if this continues!

KINGS FOREVER

I do agree, he does need to put up more offensively for what he's paid. But I also don't blame Dean for paying him what he felt was market value considering what the other centers were getting signed for. I just think the team values him more than just a cap hit like the fans do.

That's fine, but just remember if the team doesn't have cap space to acquire a 30 goal winger at the deadline his contract is one of the big reasons why. Lombardi is not an idiot, most people knew there was going to be a lockout, he probably had a pretty good idea of what the cap was going to be this year and where the holes on the roster would be. Dean chose to lock-up and IMO overpay for a 3rd/4th line center at the expense of being able to add that 25-30 goal winger down the road. But again it's not surprising, this franchise has not put much of an emphasis on drafting, acquiring or retaining skilled wingers, and that is one (of many) reasons for the inability to put pucks in the net this season.

Lets just hope they can work something out with the Sabres or Flames where they can retain some of Moulson or Cammalleri's cap hits.

The Kings will make the playoffs , Quick is too good . and the March schedule is just way too weak not too.

But the Kings won't have home ice. And they will have a tough round one match up.

This team is not going to magically get better all of a sudden. We need a trade to shake things up.

Well, they magically got worse all of a sudden. Saying that a trade is required is just an excuse. This same exact personnel has played lightyears better. Hell, it happened just a few games ago.

I am starting to buy the argument that they can't sustain their top level of play for long stretches because it's too physically (and perhaps mentally) demanding. I have to wonder how 2012 would have gone if they started their run maybe 8 weeks earlier. They might have fizzled out in the second round.

Columbus played surprisingly well today. They're not the same old sorry Jackets. Jack Johnson, however, still plays like I remember. Which is sad, because I honestly thought he was going to blossom in a starring role out of Doughty's shadow.

Kopitar could learn something from that Johansen kid. He looks like he wants to take the game over whenever he has the puck. Kopi seems to stumble upon that zone every now and then, then fall right out of it once the fantasy leagues start getting wind of whatever scoring streak he's on.

I don't know. I think people forget just how low things got in 2012.

There was always a lot of hope in 2012, though. We had a lot of cap space and a lot of tradeable assets. Not so much this year.

And by God, I love Richards, I really do, but he is downright horrible right now.

As much as this team is pathetic offensively, the defense needs an overhaul, too. Just major, major issues throughout the lineup, top to bottom.

Olympic break might be good for this team, well at least for the guys that get one.
Kinda wish Brown was not going, a couple of weeks off might help his beat up body.

Never thought they would have home ice to be honest. Even when they went 9-1.

Bother anyone else that Kopitar is on a 65 point pace ......

I'd assume all forwards except King are on pace for career lows.

Who knows how much Brown will even be playing in Sochi. There is something off about his entire game this season.

I agree , and its not like team USA has to travel. Brown is going to be a fourth liner that plays maybe 9 mins a game on that team.

This team didn't "magically" get worse. They got healthy. I've been beating the same ****ing drum for a month now. When Lewis, Clifford, Fraser, etc etc were all out, this team looked entirely different. It's not a coincidence anymore.
