Bring on the trade demands.

Then I will remind you we have no leverage to get a top-flite player because we have no cap room maneuverability.

They didn't elaborate much but that's the best I can gather, yeah.

Now for those of you that skate, especially ice, think of how wet your foot gets all game. Now, add stitches...

All I can think of is how much my toes hurt after a game. How many times do you push off in one game? A lot. Now factor in stitches. That definitely changes your game. Big time.

Because there was no other FA center who could do what Stoll does as effectively. Just look who was available at the time. The guy kills penalties and wins faces off which carries more value than just putting up points. Penner you could easily say is a one demensional forward, and was damn near invisible for long stretches for a guy who's suppose to score. Too many teams need centers and I think that's why we saw DL over paying him to keep him. If the Kings offered him a 1 year deal, he'd have sign probably in ANA for the same amount he signed in LA. Just my 2cents.

Boyd Gordon was a FA , although he makes more than Stoll. But Gordon at this point in his career is better than Stoll.

The market had players. Dean liked Stoll. Stoll admitted his game slipped (big time). They agreed on three years. End of story.

Not with that attitude. We can if he believe in ourselves...and trade a few players.

Upgrade for Doughty as we're talking in the other thread.

I like Muzzin as a project but he can't be taking regular shifts with Doughty if we're in win-now mode. I'm surprised the guy hasn't appeared in any CCM ads the way he's eating up each team's equipment budget replacing shinguards game after game. Someone like Ehrhoff would be fantastic.

I still don't think a forward is the "real" problem.

I stopped watching after the first. Did sutter keep carter on Kopi's wing all game again?

We are like a hungry waiter just handing out two points to all the other diners. Onto the next game, GO KINGS!

But Doughty only wants to play with Muzzin. If Doughty didn't get his way, he might go into one of his tantrums again. Those are always fun.

Nothing against the play of Columbus tonight but their attendance is an embarrassment to the league.

You don't really appreciate just how god ****ing awful this team is until you listen to them on the radio.

"Up top to Doughty, winds up... fanned on the shot"
"Martinez coming in for the pinch, but loses his balance and the puck is cleared"
"Frattin over the line, toe drag, poke checked off his stick and the jackets go the other way 2 on 1"
"Regher shoots, blocked"
"Kopitar shoots, blocked"
"Mitchell shoots, blocked"
"Richards shoots, blocked"
"Spongebob shoots, blocked"
"Voynov shoots, blocked"
"Carter shoots, scores!"
"Lewis shoots, just kidding"
"Brown shoots, blocked"

and on and on...

Maybe if Quick' in net we lose 3-2 or 4-3, but there really was no difference between tonight and any other night.

Winning faceoffs/killing penalties and putting up points are not mutually exclusive. If someone is going to get paid 3+ million a year they better be able to contribute offensively in some ways. Stoll's stretches of going AWOL offensively are very well known, and when he goes on those, he is essentially a $3.5 mill a year penalty killer and faceoff specialist because he doesn't score and his ES defensive play leaves a lot to be desired.

And if he didn't want to sign for one year and left for the Ducks, so be it, he is their problem at $10 million over three years, not ours. Tough decisions have to sometimes be made when it comes to fitting in the right player to the right cap slot, the Kings are getting terrible value for what they pay Stoll.

I do agree, he does need to put up more offensively for what he's paid. But I also don't blame Dean for paying him what he felt was market value considering what the other centers were getting signed for. I just think the team values him more than just a cap hit like the fans do.

Picking-up on how bad Brown has been: In 26 road games this season, Brown has one point, ONE ****ING POINT!!!!

In what game was that 1 point? Down the street in Anaheim. That's a crazy stat.

Please elaborate on this. This should be fun.

You've never seen Doughty lose it on the ice over the years? I'm joking around about it when it comes to Muzzin, but Doughty has been known to be let his emotions get the best of him. That comes with being young though.

Muzzin, while the 2nd most talented defenseman on the team, has been lucky Doughty wants him as a defensive partner to the exclusion of anyone else.

The Blue Jackets are consistently in the bottom five every year and currently rank 28, like the season before. Facts don't lie.

Four words: five year polar vortex

But really, the Kings attendance was pretty poor for a while until they turned it around. Phoenix on the other hand, they don't draw **** when there team is good or bad. What's their excuse? A bunch of blue hairs, snowbirds and transplants don't wanna travel to Glendale. It's a beautiful arena though... Always gotta mention that. Kinda like polishing a turd..

Not to the point of pouting on who his partner is. He's the Kings best defenseman and has played with everyone.

Guess I was wrong, but I always thought the Kings had very solid attendance? Nothing like now though.

Uh, yeah. Anyone claiming this team doesn't have major problems at this point is just kidding themselves.

This season is starting to feel more like 2006 than 2012.

I still haven't recovered from the melt down of 06

I had season tickets from 2006-2009. It wasn't pretty. They would sellout games here and there. The attendance numbers on espn's site are based on tickets sold if I'm not mistaken. Getting people show up to the games for all the tickets sold was a chore. I know because I repeatedly gave tickets away that went unused or were just flat out turned down. That's part of the reason I got rid of my season tickets.

I'd have to imagine the attendance the Kings are getting now is about as good as they've had since Gretzky was around.
