Only in Leaf Nation could this guy be considered a Norris trophy candidate. Sure, he gets a lot of PP points, but what a liability he is in his own end.

Is it too late to bring in DION?

The last season he was 4th in Norris voting and was a named to the 2nd team all-star team. He also leads th leafs in non-PP points.

Does Cole have something against Ryan Smyth? He called the icing play not too long after Smyth's slapshot with way more enthusiasm than either of the times they showed Smyth's rush. When they showed the replay, Cole's tone was of a dismissive "why are we showing this" air, the kind usually reserved for when a commercial break is about to happen.

I was reading about the new ratings system that is supposed to prevent this.. and it seems to work all well and good (they randomly and anonymously choose scores from a larger panel of judges) but apparently it's such a complicated scoring system that even the skaters and their coaches sometimes don't know what's going on... That sport has some problems!
