Redden had well over 1.00 points per game at the start of the season. I wish I remembered the exact figures, but I Redden definitely led all defencemen in points per game at the time of selection.

I'm just saying, McCabe is good offensively, but his slight offensive edge isn't worth what he fails to bring to the game defensively.

McCabe takes another penalty... a misconduct? Great...

Never did. McCabe is the best offensive d-man in the league. If he was as bad defensively as you claim why is he a positive player on negative team playing over 28 minutes per game?

So what McCabe got a penalty, he went for the hit got his elbow up a bit no big deal, nice to see someone go for a hit. Funny no one said anything when Pronger took a bonehead penalty to put Canada dwon 2 men.

That was a battle, Pronger never should have been called for that. McCabe was causing his own mistakes.

Canada is coasting now.

They know that the Germans are a beaten team.

Kipper is ALREADY injured. We don't want him to make it worse.

McCabe takes a stupid penalty, and gets himself off the ice for most of the period. Good for us.

It's hard to argue that the starting goaltender is as important to a team as the #1-2 defenceman.

Actually I'm a Canucks' fan and I hate the Flames with every fiber of my being.
But anyone who watches hockey knows that Phaneuf is a superior player to Bryan McCabe and other dmen on the team.

Everyone except Gretzky.

That was not a battle that was a german player trying to chase the puck into the corner and Pronger not letting him by INTERFERING with him.

McCabe hit was a shoulder, but they call it a hit to the head and it is an automatic misconduct.

Enough about that McCabe nonsense, you guys have all the rest of the year minus these 2 weeks to start threads about why McCabe is the best d-man on the league or why does he suck so much.

Could you please talk about the game for people like me who can't watch it or is it that much boring that we have to talk about how perfect or how incompetent a player is.... :shakehead

Actually when Wade returned from his 10 game absence he had a 3 or 4 point night almost immediately, and at that point was over a point a game and if I am not mistaken it was virtually identical to the points per game average that McCabe had.

Yeah, Pronger hasn't had a great tournament so far. Still, I'd rather have 20 minutes a game of broken foot Pronger, then 15 minutes a game of McCabe.

Yeah, that's why I said WAS. I was refering to the bonehead plays he made prior to that.

I strongly disagree. Watch it again.

Never did what?

Because he was conveniently injured during that 8 game losing streak?

Redden never led in points per game. The losing streak was caused by his injury. s

McCabe has been GARBAGE. Two bad penalties, clueless on the GER goal, nearly turned the puck over for a GER break-away . . .

Only in Leaf Nation could this guy be considered a Norris trophy candidate. Sure, he gets a lot of PP points, but what a liability he is in his own end.

Is it too late to bring in DION?

Who has Drapes been playing on a line with so far? I was watching some of the game earlier and didn't remember hearing his name, was it just me or is he not playing on the PP or PK either?

Yeah he hasn't played well since he came back from his groin.
