Now I get it!

So hockey is already broken into division. This is the highest division. The third division would be Jamaica playing Bermuda.lol

I think you meant they are in a third tier of your own creation.

FTR.. I like the tiers but I'm not sure why you expect people to have them associated to you. I'd also put Finland and Sweden in the first one and Canada at a slight tier higher

Well, others are giving their opinions about my ranking system, so I thought I would as well.

Sweden and Finalnd can beat anyone on a given day. My ranking has more to do with depth.

But you're not proving that. So much whining when Slovakia plays with a bit of an edge.
That’s not playing with an edge. I have no problem with physical play infact I respect players that are willing to put their body on the line to impose their will. I actually miss that a little from Canadian hockey but cross checks to the back and neck after every whistle isn’t playing with an edge it’s blatantly dirty. I would be ashamed of my team if they were doing the same. Be physical, play with an edge by finishing your check but this dirty crap after the whistle isn’t playing with an edge. It’s embarrassing.

Meh, overcome the crap and win anyway.

Canadians can’t possibly be unfamiliar with this stuff.

This is mine if we're talking best on best today. But I do believe a third tier team (in this) could beat a best on best Top 5.

Canada
Sweden/Finland/Russia/US

Czechs in a goofy spot

Everyone else

That's factually incorrect. There was a Canadian down after the first crosscheck and took a 2nd to the back of the head.

From behind is nearly as bad as in the back of the head, that garbage should be an instant penalty at all levels, NHL includes. It's cheap, it's pathetic and it's dangerous.
I know which play you are referring to, but there was no crosscheck to the back of the head in spite of what people posted here. Not sure if that is something they said on TSN or where you got it from.

Sykora has been disappointing. He was buzzing last year, I expected him to put up some numbers at this tournament.

It's sick to say that Bedard is more important for Canada than Jiricek for Czechia.
Lindbom is on the same level as Bedard for his Sweden. Nemec is probably close in importance for his team.
That indicates how freakishly good Bedard is. Because Canada has some depth compared to others and Svozil, Jiricek, Kulich, Spacek and others are really important for their teams but I still find Bedard and Lindbom being even more important.
Also, that says a bit of the Swedish team who I consider a bit weak this year, even if they won against an even weaker Finnish team.

Let's hope for an even and exciting second period. Come on guys!

Captain obvious says Canada needs to score soon and often and put this away.

If Slovakia stays close they'll shorten that bench and become a problem like they did for the US.

What year did the world juniors switch to hybrid icing? It used to always be no touch wasn’t it?

At times, Othmann sure fights the puck. He'll do something amazing but then loses the puck skating with no one near him.

I feel like he's a capable prospect but more of a lower line, hard working type of winger.

Starting to get that vibe as well, though I had only seen him a handful of times he did look like he had top six upside to my amateur eye.

Still a fun player to watch
