Winning in the alleys is a proud part of Canadian hockey tradition.

Europeans love to call Canadians barbarians so why not prove them right from time to time?

It's more of a case of Slovakia matching the energy of their opponents. I don't know if you've seen our other games, because we played pretty chippy games vs the US and Finland, but not very physical games vs Switzerk
land or Latvia. So yes, team Slovakia won't be bullied.

Slovak's are following their gamplan to a tee. They need this to be close and physical.

Slovakia better than I expected so far. They have been physical and quite fearless in the first period. I was kind of expecting Canadian blizzard with the score 3-0 within 10 mins, something like that. But the Slovak guys are fighting back, definitely looking better than Switzerland and Germany.

Just don’t be shocked if a few cross checks go the other way if the score gets out of reach either way.

I think you meant they are in a third tier of your own creation.

FTR.. I like the tiers but I'm not sure why you expect people to have them associated to you. I'd also put Finland and Sweden in the first one and Canada at a slight tier higher

That's factually incorrect. There was a Canadian down after the first crosscheck and took a 2nd to the back of the head.

From behind is nearly as bad as in the back of the head, that garbage should be an instant penalty at all levels, NHL includes. It's cheap, it's pathetic and it's dangerous.

Exactly. The CHL is definitely more physical than any of the euro leagues. They would have no problem with it if they were playing by the North American rules they are used to. I can definitely see a Canadian snapping eventually and taking a dumb penalty/suspension I just hope it’s not Bedard. Slovak coach for sure knows there’s a good chance that happens to, I’d have my team do the same thing If I was coaching against a team with Canadas skill
