It's funny seeing some of the fans that fancy themselves enjoyers of hard nosed hockey and haters of softness whining profusely over a couple Slovakian cross checks.
Lol… the majority of these kids play in the CHL …. this is nothing….Slovaks need to keep up the physicality. This canadian team does not like the rough stuff.
I agree. There were so close to being up 4-0.Really? I thought Canada played pretty well overall. Didn't bury the chances though!
True. Good one.Lol… the majority of these kids play in the CHL …. this is nothing….
What was he asked and what did he say?No....Bedard responds that way cuz you TSN dorks keep asking stupid questions.
What was he asked and what did he say?
Stepped away after Period ended.
Very sloppy and got caught several times. Not a whole lot of good chances generated. Just looks disjointed, though I recognize that bad ice (third game of the day) is a factor.Really? I thought Canada played pretty well overall. Didn't bury the chances though!
But you're not proving that. So much whining when Slovakia plays with a bit of an edge.Winning in the alleys is a proud part of Canadian hockey tradition.
Europeans love to call Canadians barbarians so why not prove them right from time to time?
Just try to get a bit of a lead first.
Slovak's are following their gamplan to a tee. They need this to be close and physical. It's more of a case of Slovakia matching the energy of their opponents. I don't know if you've seen our other games, because we played pretty chippy games vs the US and Finland, but not very physical games vs Switzerk
land or Latvia. So yes, team Slovakia won't be bullied.

If a cross check makes a nation "third rate"
What does a play like this do?

I was at the US game and was very impressed by the physicality for sureIt's more of a case of Slovakia matching the energy of their opponents. I don't know if you've seen our other games, because we played pretty chippy games vs the US and Finland, but not very physical games vs Switzerk

Some hilarious takes from the unknowledgeable in this thread, eh?Lol… the majority of these kids play in the CHL …. this is nothing….
Now I get it!I said they had a third rate team. You said country.
I stand by what I said.
USA-Canada-Russia
Finland-Sweden-Finland-Czechia
Slovakia-Swiss-Germany-Denmark
If you want a higher rating, win something.
That's factually incorrect. There was a Canadian down after the first crosscheck and took a 2nd to the back of the head.I agree with the sentiment, but 0 players were crosschecked to the back of the head in this one.
Exactly. The CHL is definitely more physical than any of the euro leagues. They would have no problem with it if they were playing by the North American rules they are used to. I can definitely see a Canadian snapping eventually and taking a dumb penalty/suspension I just hope it’s not Bedard. Slovak coach for sure knows there’s a good chance that happens to, I’d have my team do the same thing If I was coaching against a team with Canadas skillLol… the majority of these kids play in the CHL …. this is nothing….
