Sid sabotaging a game. It happens from time to time with him. With Zucker, it happens regularly, like every single game. Also, all of a sudden two games in a row when our goalies can´t make a save.

I was told that Zucker played like crap because of Malkin.

it was same the last game, we are still playing well, good system, but our goalie and our awful PK is holding us back...Fire Velucci...or whoever is in charge of this joke of a PK
Why cant they play the PK aggressivly? pressure the points and force the NYR PP to make fast passes or they will cough up the puck.

Actually, the Pens played pretty ******* badly defensively, because if the Rangers scored on every (prime) chance they got, it would've been 7-1 or 8-1.

Either way, I think Desmith/Jarry being absolute walls had a lot to do with the recent winning streak. If their play falters, so will we.

No disagreement there, but the Pens last three periods have been defense optional . . . Jarry and DeSmith can't be walls in that scenario. Jarry last year, Jarry this year . . . when the Pens tightened it up and supported defensively, he's a stud. When you ask him to make Fleury style saves all game, it's a different story.

Anyone else see that? They got away with it, but L2 and Matheson-Ceci . . . all first players on the right side of the ice. They lose that battle, and the whole back door is open.

There's a reason some of us want him nowhere near Malkin and Kapanen.

For all of the questions about his long term staying power, McCann showed 100X the chemistry with those two and was a lot more productive (in terms of points, analytics, and the eye test) than Zucker ever was.

I know you like the comeback 'well, Malkin was playing like shit' (actually, he didn't have his legs), but even when he was shit, you saw real chemistry with Kapanen that you never saw with Zucker, frankly ever.

EDIT: My gut says Zucker is on the table if something bigger presents itself . . . thinking a Perron for Hagelin style swap, where maybe you lose a little 'talent' and get back a better fit for the team.
It's not really a comeback as much as the truth. Both Geno and Sid have had long stretches of garbage play this season, and we only saw Zucker with the bad Geno early on. If Zucker can fall into the Hagelin role for the Geno+Kap combo, that line should be lights out. His big failure has been while trying to play the role of production guy. If not, he's a great 3LW to play alongside (ideally) McCann and Tanev.

I think we need a 2LW before next season starts either way. Whether you want to hang on to Zucker or not.

I have very little confidence in him. Like zero. Or zero point one. Crappy player with no identity and no chemistry, doesn´t even look connected with our current team and philosophy.

I have a similar complaint with Petts.

Damn near 10M cap space combined tied up there.

If they're committed to Zucker at L2 LW, then they should stand pat or even sell, because Zucker will sabotage Malkin and Kapanen, and that will sabotage the team.

Thankfully, it's my understanding that McCann is ticketed for L2 LW.
