Dissapointed in "garpen" couldnt get the team to lock it down. So now Canada-Sweden I guess?
He need help building his team. And selling his idea to the team. If he has an idea. This roster is pretty much the opposite of the world champs team. If A didn't work I need to do the exact opposite. Is he competent at all? I would let Ragnarsson lead as he is a competent coach

Garpen does exactly what Finland did always 10-20yrs back. When they got the lead, they stopped playing and tried to shutdown. That is a receip for disaster. Sweden cane hard in the 2 first periods and then they thought they won the game. After Finland got momentum, Garpen didnt even take a time-out or do any changes to get it back.

What? Finland is the last team to support if Sweden go out. Support every team that plays Finland, in every game, without exception. Never understood the ”support your neighbours” thing. Are you happy when Norway win gold in skiing? Of course not. It’s awful. Always root against your biggest rival. I can support Finland in football and Norway/Denmark in hockey though.

I actually root for Sweden if Finland is out. Russia is the team I want to loose. Always. I do love most to beat Sweden though. Theres a slight difference.

No agreeing at all. The Swedish "grinders" are equally skilled. Its about special teams, momentum and coaching and most of all LUCK. The team with most of that in the playoffs will win the olympics

I agree, karhukissa maybe takes it bit far with the hyperbole. It is the special teams, momentum and coaching and if course luck is somewhat also involved.
But i would but more emphasis on the coaching, it's quite remarkable how Jalonen is able to make the player stick to the sustem no matter what is their skill level..

If Finland goes out i support 1st Sweden, 2. Czech. Never Russia.

Bäckström disrespect. Lindholm and Pettersson would make it too, maybe one of them on the wing. And obviously no finnish defencemen would make team Sweden.

I rather run with Barkov, Aho, Hintz, Granlund. All are good 200ft. Granlund and Hintz also play on shitty defence-first teams and that hurt their production. No way Pettersson/Lindholm would go over any of them

Yeah, I actually support Finland over Russia too. But usually not otherwise. Maybe against Canada if Canadian fans are being too cocky. I tend to support the Americans if Sweden go out and they are left. USA always play entertaining, creative hockey.

Landeskog - Barkov - Rantanen
Laine - Bäckström - Nylander
Pettersson - Zibanejad - Lindholm
Granlund/Bratt - Aho - Forsberg

Would be the best, most balanced combined forward group from Sweden and Finland. Roll four lines equally. Lindholm is basically a PPG center this season and a selke favorite. Don’t underrate him. Hintz doesn’t get near. Lacks the creativity and skill of the other options.

Finland's top-three centers with NHLers would be Barkov-Aho-Hintz. If we were to complete that foursome with a Swedish player, it would be Mika. Lindholm is on the same level, so we'd take him too if one of our three natives was sidelined.

And since Finland still has Granlund and Lundell, the rest of Sweden's centers wouldn't make the Finnish squad.

Hintz isn’t even as good as Eriksson Ek.

Its not an " absolute" if you bring up plenty/multiple of aspects and scenarios of the game like I did. I agree on the Finnish coach Jalonen though. Eventhough merely wearing glasses does not make you a better coach ;)

Lindholm is one of the best defensive forwards in the world and might win the selke. You are underrating him.

I didn't want to go there, but this forward group would be built around Barkov and Aho - clearly 2 best centers of this group.

Elias Pettersson with 27 points this season has no business to FISWE nordic powerhouse team, Teräväinen (36 points) and Aho would be together in every scenario. And Hintz is pretty much a PPG player for the past 1,5 seasons so he should be there too.

Otherwise i agree.

Zibanejad is a slightly better player than Aho for me. Bäckström and Aho are on the same level. I still couldn’t see Finland beat Sweden best on best considering I don’t think any finnish defenceman makes our roster. But it’s a pointless argument since we won’t see it happen.

There is absolutely no way Hintz wouldnt be on our team. I much rather have Hintz than any other of Swedens C:s except Zibanejad. 200ft speedster who play any situation, also PK. He is PPG+ and +30 his last 2 seasons even played injured the whole last year

You can’t watch hockey with eyes and take Hintz over Nicklas Bäckström. Behave. Pettersson is also clearly better at hockey and a bad season doesn’t change that. I don’t let one bad season cloud my judgement on Pettersson just like I don’t use a bad run of form against Laine when it happens. I think Calgary fans would be outraged at you taking him over Lindholm too.

Let's agree to disagree.
