Naughty Dogs games are mostly good but gameplay has not been their strong suit the last couple of generations. It's very limited and outdated which is not surprising considering all the resources they put in graphics, actors and motion capture.

Put like 2 hours into High on Life. It's fun, but I think the game might need to be played in limited doses, as while I enjoy Rick and Morty, I'm not sure I can deal with a long run of that type of humor, and the gameplay isn't strong enough to keep you hooked in that regard. Although, it is cool they are trying to be a first-person 3d Metroidvania (or atleast metroidvania elements) and doing it on a decent budget.

I finished the first bounty in High on Life. It has made me laugh out loud multiple times but I think it’s going to annoy some people. Performance issues are there but its fun.

Also, there’s whole ass movies in the game. Watched some shitty Denise Richards/Paul Walker movie for like 20 minutes.

Yeah, I'm seeing some weird one percent lows on PC, which are jarring. I've heard it's prevalent on consoles too.

Picked up Stellaris and all of the DLC when it was on sale. I'm addicted and have lost plenty of sleep.

My previous three games were AC Valhalla, Ragnarok, then Rise of the Tomb raider so I decided to slow down a bit, but I think I might've slowed down too much. I've been "playing" Murdered Soul Suspect, it was like 3 bucks at Halloween and I'm just now getting to it. Anyway, the story/concept is interesting enough for me to deal with the gameplay, which is about as low impact as it gets. Definitely glad I spent less on this than a hamburger.

I think I've almost finished Wasteland 3 on my gamepass trial.

It's a fantastic game, what Fallout 3-4 should've been like, although I understand that the mass appeal wouldn't have been there. It's one of my favorite RPGs since Divinity: Original SIn 2. Writing, music, lore, atmosphere, combat, everything is well crafted.

I have to admit though that gamepass is just a fantastic product. I have it for free this month and there's so much quality in there. I love that its available on PC. I can play any game I would on an XBOX, but with a PS5 controller. If Sony keeps publishing their exclusives on PC, I'm in business.

Stardew Valley. What a great game. Simple in its design yet, it has depth. It shows that a game can have depth without being extraordinarily complex. Most games now simply include complex gameplay mechanics as a poor substitute for gameplay depth.

Started playing around 7 EST. 7 hours later we finished the first 100 levels of the mine. If it wasn't almost 2 am I'd still be going.

+1 on Wasteland 3. Really fun game.

MS is also bringing keyboard+mouse support to xCloud, and not only for PC games. Console games will apparently have k+m support. You can do it now unofficially with a chromium plugin, but official support is in the works. For me, the CRPG experience is so much better with k+m, so that will be a nice addition. I can't imagine playing Divinity OS 2 with a controller.

There are a few others you may like on GP if you enjoy CRPGs. Solasta is one (uses D&D 5th Edition ruleset), the Dungeons of Nehaeulbeuk is another (satire of the CRPG genre).;

I saw them, but I want to try the Pathfinder series until BG3 comes out (and Rogue Trader). I got Kingmaker for free but Wrath of the Righteous is the one I really want to try.

Wasteland is definitely one of the best RPG series out there and since it's kind of a niche sub-genre, it will never get the appreciation it deserves. It's definitely up there with Divinity: Original Sin. I think the stories in general are better in Wasteland but the combat and exploration is better in Divinity.

Battles in DOS2 are EPIC. And you have so many tools at your disposal.

One interesting difference is the individual initiative order in DOS2 vs "my whole team, then your whole team" in WL3.

Both are fun and offer different strategies - personally I do really like having my whole team go at once, kinda like XCOM2. There's a bit more depth to the strategy because you can plan multiple moves in sequence.

Haven’t played outer worlds since it was released so doing a new play through and then will try the DLCs. I really enjoy the writing and the atmosphere of the game. Way less glitchy than I remember too I’m glad I picked it up again.

It’s an issue I have with most games and DLCs if I buy it at release. I’ll finish it and then when DLCs get released I’ll forget everything and never go back and play them.

Also a big ugh as PS owner since I think the sequel will be MS exclusive. I hate exclusively just give me everything and not have to pay more for multiple consoles

Subnautica just released the biggest update in its history 4 years after release (version 2.0) and when they've already released a "sequel".

I'm not sure I've ever seen a video game company actually go back and retroactively introduce content from a later installment back into a previous game. The level of commitment that Unkown Worlds shows to their player base is amazing. They had a tool within the game for players to give specific feedback to developers with screenshots and everything. They took that feedback and used it directly for this update, fixing over 800 bugs, and adding in a ton of Quality of life updates with extra content.

I hope other developers are taking notes!

So happy to be diving back into this one, pun intended. one of my favorite games of all time.

Time just flies by when you're doing the mine in Stardew.

A staple of a game I also end up migrating back to a couple times a year with nothing else going on.

Simple yet fun.

Went back to Valheim after they released their Mistlands update. A pretty fun game overall but they really need to speed up the time of their releases. It's still not finished and there's no end game, so if you don't like building there's no reason to keep playing after you finish the main story that is released.

Just picked up Wasteland 3 based on this thread (I added it to my wishlist a while ago for the same reason, thanks for the reminder). Its on sale for 12 bucks. Will try it out tonight.

I also recently started Project Zomboid and am having a great time. I've only one sandbox and I tweaked it to have a ton of unfair advantages, but I'm just looking for a little less stress in my gaming time. I've still lost 3 guys already and I'm extra careful with this first (not counting the 20+ I lost quickly while trying to figure out the game).

My first guy made it so far, had a ton of stuff, and built up a great base. As I was moving out of my old base to the new one the helicopter came. In a panic I pressed the wrong button and got swarmed. I legit closed the game and starred at the screen for a few minutes before composing myself and starting a new guy. Was a nice surprise to find out the new guy can loot the old guy & all his work carried forward. I'm still in that new base and use the old one as an outpost.

I would recommend it.
