Finally got around to trying Elden Ring and I don't like it that much, same as Seikro and Bloodborne, I can conclude that From games are just not for me.

So I'm kinda in a rut at the moment. Been replaying Yakuza Like a Dragon (on PS5 this time) and I just love it, probably makes it into the top 3 for me for the PS4 gen.

Wife said she wanted to play Parasite Eve again, which I happen to have downloaded onto my PS3, so we started it, still holds up IMO. Trying to buy Silent Hill through the PSN store and it keeps getting tripped up on verifying my account through a credit card number, though I have money in wallet (it's the same wallet as on my PS5). Incredibly poor by Sony on this. I get its an old system, but millions of people still play it and some of them might want to buy a game digitally once in awhile. Definitely would rather pay 6 bucks there then spending 100+ on a disc.

Yeah I think they're intentionally making it difficult. They wanted to shut the PS3 store down but fan backlash made them put that on hold for the time being.

I would also caution that if the game you're trying to buy is the Silent Hill HD collection I remember hearing scathing reviews for how those remasters were handled, though I never played it.

I had to delete my saved credit cards for the system to defer to the money in the wallet, which is something they really could've said. I bought the OG Silent Hill, btw.

I still need to play those. I have Postal 1 & 2 installed on Steam but have such a huge backlog.

I started playing Hot Wheels Unleashed. It's pretty cool but I'm not enjoying it nearly as much as I thought I would. The world map is so convoluted for no reason and it's constantly trying to push DLC onto you. It's a shame because the racing itself is pretty fun in cool environments but man, it's like the game really tries to push itself to be as annoying as possible.

I feel like Hot Wheels Unleashed is everything wrong with modern gaming. They take a cool concept, make a game with fun gameplay, and make everything else feel like such a chore that you just want to put it away and never touch it again. It's a full price game and when you launch it, you'd think it's F2P because they're constantly shoving loot boxes in your face and somehow have an additional $200+ in DLC.

The career mode is also the most unnecessarily convoluted thing I've ever seen in a racing game. You have to unlock secrets by winning X race with Y car. Problem is if you don't have the right car, you have to grind to open loot boxes hoping to get the right car. The end game content is locked behind having to complete 3 secrets. Once I saw that, I uninstalled the game. I was already on the fence throughout the few hours that I played it but once I saw that, I just gave up on it entirely.

I'm playing Cult of the Lamb and its amazing. One of the best games I've played this year.

I've tried a bit of Ori and the Blind Forest as well as Dead Cells. One them is probably going to be my next game. Was really impressed by Dead Cells in particular.

Edit: Dead Cells is a blast. Wow, what a game.

Mount & Blade: Warband.

It's a medieval FPS game, which allows access for various modules that span from Western to Eastern history.
Nice game to play when you need to relieve stress as well as enjoy the realism of the medieval world.

Madden 23 on series X

Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker HD on WiiU

Immortals Fenyx Rising on PS5

Getting shoulder surgery Tuesday and gonna be in a sling for 4-6 weeks, really hoping I'll be able to play a bit and not gonna have to take a month long hiatus

It does have the Ubisoft map with way too much clutter on it, but the game plays like BotW and not an Assassin Creed game. Having a passing knowledge of Greek mythology helps with some of the references and jokes

I'll be playing mostly Dead Cells, but have tried Rogue Legacy (loving it) and Deaths Door. All very good games up to now. I'm really enjoying going through my indie backlog right now.

Edit: just realized I got to the final boss of Dead Cells on my first run (no DLCs). I took it easy because I thought I was halfway ans needed practice. Had I known, would have gone all out.

Started playing Farthest Frontier a couple days ago, it's been pretty enjoyable so far but I'm still progressing and haven't unlocked everything. I've been looking for a relaxing city builder and this seems like it might be the one.
