Don't panic

I'd also like to mention something (and I'm not typically superstitious at all), but we haven't won a game against Carolina when you use the term Pens vs ''Jerks'' in the GDT.

It's nice to stop the bleeding. Winning 5 in a row was great but if we had followed that up with 3 losses that woulda really sucked.

Feels like last year we had stretches like that where we'd be good and then become a turd right after.

Hopefully this year we can balance that out better and put together multiple good stretches.

If Ruhwedel will be out for a while, that's the easy move to make to clear space. But if he's just day-to-day, they could put POJ on LTIR and backdate it all the way to 11/5. He'd be eligible to come back 11/30 against Tampa, which is just 11 days away.

And, if Hinostroza is going to be out, they could put him on LTIR and call up a 13th forward, as well.

As it stands, they cannot reactive Ludvig without either sending someone to AHL or putting someone on LTIR.

Nedeljkovic was excellent. Just about every save he made he was square to the shooter and so many shots just fell into his lap, the sign of a goalie who is on his game.

Too bad Sid couldn't have gotten the ENG but he won't mind obviously. You take the goal however it comes. Jake had a real nice chance to score off passes from 87 and 65 so it would have been cool to see him score there to keep all their point streaks alive on one play.

Shea has much better stickhandling than I thought. He weaved into the o-zone once tonight and did a nice dangle a few games ago too. Acciari was good. If your 4th line could spend every shift behind the opposition's net you take that all day every day.

Letang made two bad cross-ice turnovers in the 1st but those were really the only bad turnovers. Much cleaner game in that respect.

I was a tad surprised Vegas didn't challenge the Graves goal because Eller had his stick under Hill's arm and kind of pulled him sideways before Graves' shot. Maybe they thought Hill had stuck his arm around Eller's stick therefore he initiated it. But Eller was going behind Hill in the crease. I'm interested to know how they would have called it had Vegas challenged.
