Only caught the third period. We looked pretty good from what I saw.
Take the loss and move on

I would have rather had Nuke out there. He’s better than this, but not nearly as good as the hype around the signing. Still it is really just about his shot more than anything. He can snipe when he gets a chance.
I agree with that. He’s a third liner and guy like Compher… versatile, but gets played too much because of it. Still useful, just not 2nd line useful.Meh, guy that never cracked 30 points his entire career until last season when he had an absolute heater of a first 41 games before hitting a major regression. Rodrigues is what he is. If everyone is healthy he's probably 3RW but I can't say I'm all that thrilled with him in that role.
I’d have a longer list than that, just stating the reason.I would have rather had Nuke out there.
Meh. They came out strong against a team on a back to back on their home opener. I'd be pretty concerned about how they almost let us back into this if I was their fans.Calgary looks pretty darn good this year but glad the avs fought back... Newhook late in game got replaced by compher...
Frankly while he was limited in his time, he was the Avs’ best defensemen tonight. I’d argue he should have played a lot, lot more minutes. Is this when we talk about Girard being redundant, paying him $5 mil to play 15 minutes on the 3rd pair, etc.? Or do we need to wait for a few more losses![]()

We have a 1st line, a 3rd line, a 4th line and a 5th lineSedlak played 6:44, Meyers played 7:24 and MacDermid played 4:14.
Flames clearly took their foot off the gas.Honestly didn't think Calgary looked that great. They took advantage of very favorable situation and jumped on a clearly visible tired team.
Considering we have no 2nd line, our captain is out, played our backup, our all world dman played his worst game in maybe his entire career, we got like maybe 4 hours of sleep, refs favored Calgary, a 5-3 loss wasn't half bad.
Calgary should have looked much better IMO.
Time to rest up and play a better road game against Minny on Monday.
Not f***ing chance if he continues to play like he has the 1st 2 games. He isn't f***ing close right now.Doubt the Newhook #2C experience will last long, he is not ready for it.
And without Frank standing on his head to start, Calgary scores more like 7/8 in this game.Flames clearly took their foot off the gas.
Disagree. We picked it up, big difference.Flames clearly took their foot off the gas.

Wish Sakic had gone after Danault when he was a UFA, mostly because a healthy line of Landeskog-Danault-Nichushkin would be the perfect 2nd line for this team
Yep he'd be just about perfect for what we need. Oh well it's not going to happen now.His cap hit would be perfect for our range that we can afford as well.
Eh, who knows what happens if we got Danault. He'd be perfect now, but there isn't a single move that I wish Sakic did considering what he did brought us a cup. Wouldn't be surprised if Kadri was shipped out if we signed Danault that offseason.Wish Sakic had gone after Danault when he was a UFA, mostly because a healthy line of Landeskog-Danault-Nichushkin would be the perfect 2nd line for this team
