But there were so many other situations where Cory could've given up a goal and he didn't. He was average this game, the defense was ass as usual. The 2nd goal was weak I have to admit.

I really doubt Marty would have played much better than Cory.
Goaltending wasn't why they lost the game, they only scored 1 goal.

Blow it up, go young for better or worse. Team isn't winning anyways, so we might as well try and develop all our prospects at the same time. Especially on defense.

It's really looking like we have no choice but to go into full rebuild mode. No more of this. I can't take it anymore. I'd rather suck but with a future to look forward to. Right now we suck and don't have that future.

This. I just don't see how some people think we are still a contender. If we are dependent on our division sucking so we can make rank, then we have a troubling few years ahead of us before we truly see what is going on.

This is going to be a few rough years.

That decision to not give up the pick gets worse with every loss.

I think Lou is by far the most responsible one for the mess we're in. He relied for years on the same talent (Brodeur/Elias/Nieds/Stevens). He never adjusted correctly to the losses and that's why we got progressively worse over the years. He's made so many mistakes in the last few years that would get most GM fired it's not even funny. I sure as hell don't believe in Lou anymore.

Right now, he's still giving up less than Marty. But it is getting to the point where I'm no longer blaming either of them. It just doesn't seem to make a difference whether Cory/Marty play well or suck. We still lose.

Cory in net is our best chance to win the difference is ridiculous. If only we had a coach who could actually play good defensive players (not Harrold) around him.

10 regulation wins in our last 46? I'm usually a pretty positive guy but this is really really bad. And sans Merrill/Gelinas there is no help on the way at all. Quite honestly, I don't want those two anywhere near this **** show either.

The no first this year really burns. Giving up what looks to easily be a top-10 pick is going to sting. Especially if it's top-5. There's just no fix at this point and we're going to have to watch this slop for a while

Buckle in and grab the booze.

Sorry but Schneider gave up two weak ass goals, soft as hell. If that was Marty there would be 5 straight pages about how he sucks and should hang em up.

Fayne was horrible this game, two blown coverages, especially on the Dubinski goal, nobody says a peep except BG.

You guys are funny, don't see much *****ing about those blown coverages or soft goals, but hey it's our saviors Fayne and Cory so it's ok. I guess it doesn't fit the narrative of the Marty, Harrold, and Volch bashing that goes on all day everyday.

You must be seeing things the Rock Cory could not have allowed a softy.:sarcasm:

the team's only chance it to do what Lemaire implemented after the MacLean debacle. They have to completely focus on the defensive end and shut everything down. Play for 0-0. I don't know if the new guys have it in them to do that, but that's will actually maximize Zajac, Zubrus, Henrique, etc.

The team can't play from behind. If we're down by one, we're in trouble. If we get down by more than one, the team falls apart. The team looked absolutely lost trying to press for offense. It was a disgrace. As much as I didn't enjoy the first period today, that's the way the team needs to play.

I would hold onto Brunner, he wants top six minutes and he seems to do well. Elias won't be traded, that's a long shot. Unless Lou is gone, then its possible. As for the others, I'd take what I can get.

Marty probably lets in 2-3 goals by the time Schneider lets in his first. He made some great saves early.

Any "Marty would have..." posts should immediately be met by laughter.

He didn't play, so you don't know. Maybe it's a 1-0 shutout.

Point is- goaltending is not the problem with this team when you give the game away.

Completely agree.
Pete gets a ton of **** from me, but these guys do work hard. It's not Mac era bad. But the talent is just not there. It probably would have been smart to just go the rebuild route after last season, but Lou decided to trade the pick for Cory, and sign a brutal contract (Clowe) For what?

Ugh, just a mess. Complete ****ing mess.

I blame the ownership too for persuading Lou to go after Kovalchuck. That's where this whole mess began.

If Lou doesn't drop the hammer down violently on Deboer, he can GTFO out too. I'm SICK of this losing culture.

Pete has a lower winning percentage over the last 40+ games than Johnny Mac did. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! HE'S GOTTA ****IN GO!

two problems:

JMac had a good team and was horrible.
PDB has a horrible team and is horrible.

When JMac was fired there was a sure fire replacement there to step in and put things together.
When you fire PDB....then what? What is they get worst?
