Drives me nuts how parts of this board are over luo for the suspect third goal, sure it wasnt the best goal but good goaltenders let in goals like that all over the league. Watch highlights tonight and use the same measuring stick on all goalies as you do for lou.

scapegoat there will be always be blame to someone when losing

When was the last time those two scored in the SO? I knew for a fact Kesler wasn't going to score. You almost have to close your eyes watching him attempt it. At least put someone in there who was having a good game or showing some flashes.
Edler scored a couple early when he got to shoot, with that one move he has, but 0 for 4 last season. Kesler is 3-16 over the last three seasons.

What's worse is as you say, it doesn't feel at all like there's even a remote chance either will score.

This teams diving past and ***** about the refs to the media has come back bite us in the ass, in 2011 we got the benefit of the doubt until we started making the refs look bad by diving all over the ice, same core is intact and there's no doubt a few refs are holding that against us. We dug our own grave with it and it will always be a black cloud over this core. I know we had a good game but the Pens didn't have Nesl or Letang and so far into this early season we haven't been able to a playoff team but feeding on points from the bottom feeder teams, it's not a huge concern just yet given we're not even a month into the season but something to keep an eye on.

King Henrik got ventilated a few times early this season but its not Luongo and he doesn't play for the Canucks sooooo he's still the best.

I had more to say except I'm going to stop before I start but to sum it up, I hate people.

I'm really tired of people blaming the refs.

That's fine, but it remains that the penalties levied in games are out of sink with what would normally be expected based on possession, shots on goal/attempts, and almost always going against the team seeming to have an edge in play.

Affects everyone, not just Nucks, and has been a statistical fact for years. Game insiders, not just fans or journalists, have used the term "game management" -- a fix by any other name.

That's all I have to say on the subject.

Good game for a Saturday afternoon. The Canucks I thought played well enough to win. Crosby covers up some sins. Letang, Neal and Bennett being out does affect the Pens offense but nice game and effort. Hope your team gets the Tampa Torts and not the Rangers Torts.

Twitter is quickly getting as much of a cesspool as youtube comments, and that's saying something.

Taking the positives out of this one :
Kassian Got his first
We getting goals from our bottom 6, especially Richardson.
We got a point on the road against a top team.

When the obituaries are written after the fall of western civilization, Twitter will feature prominently.

It may actually be the worst thing in the world.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but I liked Torts' emphasis on clogging up the neutral zone to neutralize the Pens' many elaborate breakout schemes. Their most common breakout is to have Crosby or Malkin to wheel back in their own zone to generate speed and use their skill to carry the puck with speed into the offensive zone. Malkin and Crosby seemed frustrated on the breakout. They got their chances on odd-man rushes and defensive breakdowns on our part, but couldn't do much when we sat back like that.

This is refreshing because the Canucks don't always play this conservatively. Torts is giving opposing teams a lot of different looks. Today's strategy was obviously a result of Torts' familiarity with the Pens' system, but still encouraging nonetheless that Torts' is trying to make the Canucks less predictable than they have been in previous years. This is his biggest contribution in my opinion, though it is still clearly a work in progress.
