People who think Penguins were the better team in this one make me laugh, they won in the shootout guys. A team full of fourth liners could win in a shootout against us. We had the edge all night (day?!?), penguins just kept up with us thanks to some awful defensive breakdowns. That being said, even performance on both sides. Probably could have gone either way.

Honestly, the refs are an actual issue at this point. It's that bad.

Yup. I've *always* been a 'blaming the refs is silly, the breaks will even themselves out' poster here. Have tried to point out games where the reffing breaks have gone in our favour.

Since the spring of 2011, nothing has gone in our favour.

Now last in the league in PPs/game. We've had more PPs than the opposition once in 9 games.

Tonight, the refs set an early precedent by calling a rinky-dink holding penalty on Higgins. Then another marginal-ish one against Schroeder.

... and then Pittsburgh spent the entire game committing similar infractions against us, and against the Sedins in particular, and nothing gets called.

That interference play by Martin (?) against Henrik in overtime absolutely has to be called. We have pressure and possession, calls are 5-1 against us, and Pittsburgh commits the most obvious interference play ever to create a turnover going the other way and a series of quality scoring chances for them. Ridiculous.

I'm crazy disappointed in Torts' choice of shooters (other than Santo).

Pens are a better team when healthy but I loved the effort and how we did their bottom 6. Malkin was pretty much meh. Crosby is Crosby, best in the world(LOL GIROUX)

Pretty much, if not the two points this game had everything you could ask for. Very entertaining. I like what I'm seeing from Richardson so far. Kassian showed what he can be but Booth has been dormant for the most part. I'm convinced that this team can do some patchwork at the deadline to put them in striking distance, I can officially see it.

Anyone but Edler and Kesler at this points really, but you are right that no one really springs to mind.

When was the last time those two scored in the SO? I knew for a fact Kesler wasn't going to score. You almost have to close your eyes watching him attempt it. At least put someone in there who was having a good game or showing some flashes.

Drives me nuts how parts of this board are over luo for the suspect third goal, sure it wasnt the best goal but good goaltenders let in goals like that all over the league. Watch highlights tonight and use the same measuring stick on all goalies as you do for lou.
