I'm not reading to much into it. Could have been as simple as a nod of appreciate for him continuing to work day in and day out without having a contract.
They have him on the 4th line. I'm going to assume he's in.

Either way. Gotta give him credit for staying around. I'm sure he got other offers. Must really want to be here.

Have to respect that!

He practiced on the 4th line before the DET game too IIRC. As someone who was called a Heinen Fanboy in years past, I hope they sign him. I think he bring a lot of versatility and can be a solid complimentary winger that you can plug and play.

I thought he was teamed up on a couple of games ago, but he handles it well. He isn't shy about digging in the corners.

If the other team choses to go after him, I am quite sure the Bruins will answer. If not...I am bringing the bat.
He still needs to gain strength, but that doesn't make him shy away from playing hard along the boards. Kid has been getting pushed around some and knocked over more easily than a stronger player would. Thing about it is that Poitras recovers very quickly and immediately makes a beeline to get the puck back. He never ever gives up on the play. Pure tenacity.

One thing Poitras won't have to worry about tonight is Gudas sitting on him, so that's good.

I like that Monty isn't doing the usual coach's speak and saying the game is just another game out of the 82. He's straight-up challenging his team by saying this game means more than usual.

One thing I'd like to see is a full game where Monty doesn't shuffle line combos. Forwards need to gel

I am not pushing anyone in our top 9 down for Steen at this point. If he starts getting some points on the 4th line like Marchand did once upon a time, maybe you start to consider it. He played well enough to continue in his present role, maybe you could argue he should be our 13th forward. For me he remains number 14 and a 4th line call up only. I do hope he blossoms, I do think he has some upside. If he could show some of his skill more consistently, I think he could score 30 points in the NHL. I hope he forces the Bruins to do something this year. He can only do that with good mature play wherever he is NHL/AHL. It's nice that he is off to a good start after not performing well in the AHL early last season.
You may not push anyone down however Monty likes to shuffle...anything is possible. Not disagreeing with you. Top 9 have been playing well.

Woop Happy Days back together again. Ralph Malph Potsy and Ritchie

Like everyone else it would have been nice to have Lucic here. Having Frederic play bodyguard/cop isn't ideal. I'd rather he could dominate with Coyle's line but it is what it is. People are going to run Poitras. They already started as Monty said. But that's the way it goes. TEAM has to play big, not just one guy. That was the problem in the playoffs. It wasn't one guy, the TEAM didn't play big enough. EVERYBODY hit Tkachuk first and then he will be too busy picking himself up to go after the kid.

Their D is banged up. Just beat them.

The scouting report is in on poitras. Teams know not to underestimate him.

It's a nice change from "it's just another two points". Nothing wrong with spicing things up for certain match ups during the year.

Lady if you're at the game today make sure to cheer loud for the Happy Days line! Ralph Malph with the gam winner tonight.

Hoping for a big game from DeBrusk. He needs to kick it up a notch.
He's been great defensively ... offense should come soon. Contract year getting to him.
