Is there any chance the leafs don't get 3 out of 4 points in their last two games against teams playing for nothing and resting players because they are locked in their playoff position?

Washington was "playing for nothing" today, hopefully they follow suit

Should get a playoff game. Especially considering he didn't even get penalized and Carlo was out for the rest of the game.

Reverse positions and results between Carlo and OV on that play, and I can guarantee it's already tweeted out that the league is looking into the play for a possible fine or suspension.

With OV as the aggressor, it's not even a blip on the league's radar.

If it was Marchand, it would have been a public hanging. But since it is Ovechkin, he get called a "gritty" elite scorer, and they show a highlight reel of the five guys he had damaged in the past week....at least two of them were borderline dirty.

Maybe Marchand should just wear a Crosby jersey and they won't call anything

Could not agree more.

Although Ovechkin has been suspended several times for dangerous hits.

However it does not help that the refs did not issue a penalty on the play.

Maybe they will take it to him since he has been so outspoken about going to the Olympics...time to send a message right Bettman :naughty:

Hit on Carlo by oveckin deserve 2 min ... borderline 5. Carlo slipped a bit but ov could have let up. The hit on Miller was one of the dirtiest play of the year. It was 100% intent to injury. Miller stood up and hit him and then 10 seconds later he saw a opportunity where miller was on his knees with the number showing and smashed his head in the boards. Absolutely a 5 min major... should have resulted in a 5 on 3 for Bruins. There better be a major suspension. 10 regular season games 5 playoff games min.

Carlo was seeing stars and lights when he went by us down the tunnel. Kevan Millar very fired up, Caps were lucky B's were down to 5 D men or someone would have been pummeled. Still wish he had gone after Ovi or Wilson in last few minutes. Well, going to be quick one and done, but at least the young guys get first taste of playoffs.

Just came from the game got to sit in johnny Bucyks suite it was unreal. This little kid is sitting next to me with a Berard shirt on. I was like are you a Berard fan. His dad starts laughing I am Bryan Berard. Nicest guy in the world . I spilt my beer everywhere and he ran and got me napkins!

Aside from that I kindaaa afraid of the Caps if we have to play them...

The hit on Carlo should have been a major since it was from behind and resulted in an injury. The beagle hit on Miller was pretty dirty, could have been a major too.

I'm disappointed the Bruins didn't go after their guys all game long. they should have been sending a message before the playoffs.

It was his head? I was afraid it was his knee/ankle because it looked to me like his skate got caught in the boards when he got smushed. Hopefully whatever it was I should not long term

Ditto Crosby slashing that guy's finger off. If the ref won't make the call the league can't issue a suspension. :(

Disagree that Washington was playing for nothing....they were setting the tone for a potential (likely) first round match up. This wasn't even their last game....tomorrow is the last game in which they will be playing for nothing

They call that boarding in today's league 99 times out of 100. Doesn't matter that he didn't "intend" it, Pierre.

Yeah seemed like a concussion for Carlo. Hopefully he's ok in about 5 days. Ditto Krug.

It does it terms of how it goes on game sheet. Any penalty can be 5 min gross intent to injure which I believe results in a automatic 5 min, game misconduct and review by league. I do not believe OV's hit was intent to injure. I hated the hit by oveckin and I am mad Carlo is hurt, but the hit on Miller was in a different league in terms of intent. Millers head was intentional smashed into the boards from behind in retaliation play. OV's was from behind and a penalty but Carlo did lose an edge first. I'm fine with it being a 5 min but not a no call. I would not suspen OV, but I agree marchy would get a few games on same play. Yes Carlo got hurt but play on Miller was dirty and intent to injure (don't have to be hurt for intent) and should be reviewed by the league and a suspension handed out.

If Marchand did half of that nonsense today, he'd be banned for 20 games. Ovi does it and hey, he tried to hold up. lol

I'm just saying it should have been a boarding call.

Not pissed at the result since the Bs didn't have much chance going in given their roster, but I am pissed as hell at the refs for not calling a major on either the hit to Carlo or the one on Chiller. I am sick and tired of the multiple standards for different teams. There is zero doubt that if a Bruin makes that exact hit on Ovi and he leaves the game injured that the B would get a major and likely tossed, with a suspension soon following. The one on Chiller was even worse in my mind because it was against a completely defenseless man, and was clearly done in retribution. Not to mention it was done by a known puke. Something needs to be done about this league's awful reffing, as well as the inconsistent clown show known as DoPS. I roll my eyes every time I hear some moron from the league talking about how it wants to do something about head injuries. If it wants to do something, then do something. Until the NHL starts getting actually serious about hits to the head and dangerous cheap plays then it can take all of its nonsense blathering about the issue and stick it straight up its ass.
