To my fellow Newfie fan, please know that I share your pain. :biglaugh: Everything you wrote above is spot on. :handclap:

There are games when I am ready to toss in the towel myself. Yesterday is a perfect example. How Washington's players are allowed to pull this BS and get away with it all game long is causing this lady to become bald from pulling my hair out!

Yet two Bruins, Krejci and Chara, got absolutely ridiculous calls for roughing in separate games the last two weeks, the look on Krejci's face was priceless when he was called for it. This may seem minor to others on here, but when I see opposing players all game long hacking, chopping, tripping, slashing, boarding and interfering with our goalies/players on a nightly basis with no calls, or sometimes, the opposition gets a PP because heaven forbid, our players lose it and go after them, you can bet that Boston fans have had enough!

The other night, we had Moore grabbed, punched, and held back from the play that just went on and on for at least 30 seconds- I was literally screaming at the refs for a penalty on that one, and of course, the ref did absolutely nothing until Moore slugged him back- then both were out for roughing, creating a four on four. The ref was looking at them the entire time!

So basically, you are correct- they consistently discipline the Bruins players while others get away with chopping fingers off and taking out our key players with boarding hits- no penalties called on these beasts.

Eventually, though, this will catch up with the league. Fans will tire of the Ovie/Crosby lovefest (many already have tired of this dynamic duo), and their ability to get away with everything, just because they are "elite" players. Fans around the league as well as Boston fans are questioning this more lately- not because we are defending Marchand- no, I haven't seen many do that, at least not on here or offline. We're only asking that it be called consistently, league wide, regardless of the player and their status or reputation.

I used to enjoy watching Ovie and Crosby when the B's weren't playing. Now, I am disgusted by both, with all that they have gotten away with over the years. Ovi has been disciplined before, but it takes quite a few infractions before he even gets a whiff from the refs! Ridiculous!

Please stick around and suffer with the rest of us Lunatic Fringers. I've always enjoyed your posts and would rather read a rant from you than no post at all.

I'm ready to tell the refs to "beat the streets" and stop acting like "old farts in the mitten". I wouldn't mind if a few of them went "ass over teakettle" (Jack Edwards must be part Newfie himself! ).

Great day to you!

Perfectly stated! It's annoying as all ***** and difficult to swallow. Been watching the B's since 1970 and I have to say that whatever is going on behind the scenes with the officials is beyond the pale. It seems to never get better. What Marchand did was ridiculous and deserved punishment but when a bum like Matt Cooke and some of the other bums in the league get away with almost murdering a fellow player without league or legal retribution than something at the core is wrong. The hypocritical way the league is run is an embarrassment. Fans of other sports look at hockey the way I personally look at pro wrestling= not a real sport, or a sport for low lifes. No other sport would allow one team to be penalized to the level that the Bruins are and there seems to be no end to it. I'm wondering this: IF a Bruin is suspended (for 3 games) for a head shot where the other player is back the next game but then a Bruin (a young light weight kid) gets his skull opened up and ends up in a coma but the suspension ends up being the same, will there be a major lawsuit by the players family that'll shed light on the league's double standard what will the league say/do then? I'm afraid that sooner or later it'll come to this at the expense of another players career or life.

BTW: I believe and will always believe that if another team were screwed over like the Bruins players are their owner would be up in arms about it. Maybe not in the news media but behind the scenes. IMO Jeremy/Charlie Jacobs couldn't give two ***** about the players, only about the money and, bottom line "this is a business, and they are NOT fans" and it shows!
