Schueneman LOL The takes I took from the games I did watch in Laval seemed to indicate this player has little to no value at this point. Nothing he did up here really changes that IMO.

I don't disagree the contract looks bad, but I think the Allen re-signing was more for his leadership rather than his play.
With such a young D, it helps having a veteran goalie who can help point things out to the young guys from a goalie's point of view. As well, he sounds like a very good locker room guy which is ideal for a young team. For a bottom five team in the league, there still seems to be a lot of positivity from the players and having good locker room guys like Edmundson, Allen, Savard etc helps with the atmosphere.
Not many veterans would want to come play for a team knowing they'll likely get lit up and hurt their value going forward, Allen understood the situation he'd be in and still wanted to be part of the rebuild/retool.
True. One thing that did stand out with Sam was he was either really good or he was really bad. I was on board with trading Allen at TDL last year but the injury smashed that idea to bits. 1 game back wasn't enough time to cure the bait. I'm not sure HuGo would have pulled the trigger but had his performances after his return been before who knows.

FIRE HUGO!!!!!Completely agree. Argued that extending Allen was HuGo's biggest mistake so far with friends lately and they both disagreed with me sadly

Two things come to mind as the seasons winds down-
1. As bad as this team has been Samuel Montembeault is only one game under .500.
2. Hockey gods love the Habs...why? If this team is healthy all year you can add 7 wins to their total and they pick outside the top 10.
I look forward to this season ending soon!
Oh, and the Habs won't win tonight. They have nothing left to give.

I'm watching Buffalo-Florida game, and just flipping back to this one occasionally. CHL playoffs if Buffalo-Florida game is a blowout.

Because its all forwards, i see the teams going way off the board after like the 7th pick with Euro dmen with size Instead of all the 5’9 lw.
Maybe the sons get a boost: Perreault, Bonk, Gauthier.

Me too. Benson is "another" pint-size" forward. Outside the top -five (including MItchkov), I don't see what's so special about this draft. Very few good d-men. Lots of smaller players.I'll be pissed if we draft Dvorak 6th overall.....
