Me too. Benson is "another" pint-size" forward. Outside the top -five (including MItchkov), I don't see what's so special about this draft. Very few good d-men. Lots of smaller players.

I got roasted for saying this

I would have liked to have seen Gurianov with Suzuki and Farrell and Ylonen with Evan's and Gallagher.

Farrell Suzuki Gurianov
Gallagher Evans Ylonen
Pitlick Drouin Armia
Pez Tierney Hoffman

But I think MSL is done with Gurianov.

Gurianov had lots of chances.... He blew them. Adios amigo ! Worst than Galchy.

Notorious tank killers Belzile, Harvey-Pinard and Montambeault are not playing. There's a chance!
Arizona won't be out chanced !

I like Colby Barlow at that point because it's becoming a pandemic. :help: We already have decisions to make about how many tiny players we can keep and what trade value would the others have.

Can't see Montreal winning this game. The D is really bad now. Lol

What's the lineup there?

Matheson - Kovacevic
Edmundson - Barron
Schueneman - Wideman

Detroit still has NHL forwards. They're going to have an easy time of it.

Then our forwards:

Hoffman - Suzuki - Gallagher
Farrell - Drouin - Armia
Ylonen - Evans - Gurianov
Pezzetta - Tierney - Pitlick

That's just awful.

I'm watching Buffalo-Florida game, and just flipping back to this one occasionally. CHL playoffs if Buffalo-Florida game is a blowout.
I'm getting very concerned our boy Nick won't get the one point he needs to top last year. The 70 points I was hoping he could reach flew out the window with those games against Florida and Carolina.

5 goals in 18 games doesn't say he blew them all to me.

Much faster and better shot than Galchenyuk. But can he learn to not turn the puck over and protect the puck on the wall? Like, really, there's not much else to do with this lineup than find out.

Disappearing for no reason is not acceptable period. He had some decent showings and has even proven he can backcheck with authority. It's when things get tough that good players find a way to do something to help the club. A decent forecheck a good hit finishing a check or executing a pass. He's doing none of this and it won't be acceptable to Kent or Marty for that matter.

He's not going to produce with a shitty center like Drouin.

But yeah, he was always going to be a project. To me the question isn't what isn't he doing, and will he ever be an overall well rounded player. He won't the question is, can he learn. Need more than 18 games to see that

Either MSL has given up on him or he's sending him a message with his usage...

HF during 12-to-9-months before draft: "OMG next year's draft is going to be insane"

HF during 3 months before draft: "I don't see what's so special about this draft"

 :sarcasm:

not poking fun at you specifically, just HF in general

I wouldn't bother bringing him back, too much of a log jam as it is. There will be lots of young guys challenging for spots.

Gurianov is largely an effort problem, and it's hard to learn/adapt when there's no effort. Just cut bait.

Hum, not 'HF' though, just some particularly whiny and vocal individuals, that's it.

5 goals in his first 6-7 games. 0 since then.... And a defensive liability on top of that.

The main diffrence between last year and this year is the fact that the 2023 Top 3 or Top 4 would be drafted before the 2022 Top Four. For the rest, it's not that impressive.

Gonna be hard for the Habs not to finish 6th worst overall. Arizona are spiralling downward now.

Benson , Sale or Dvorak ?.... Or trade that pick for something big and ready.

Dvorak... ?

Jakub Dvorak, left-handed dman is probably get picked between the 2nd and the 4th round.

Do you mean Dvorsky ? Cause yeah, Dvorsky should be picked inside the top-15.

Wouldn't say much better shot than Galchenyuk, cause at the same age, Chucky was wayyyy more successful already, including a 30 goals season.

That said, Gurianov is very disappointing, some flashes here and there, and with the logjam at forward we'll still have next year, wonder if he'll be re-signed.

I was more talking about the Galchenyuk that had played for at least half a dozen teams after he left MTL.

Gurianov is not even worth the actual 2,9 M $ he is making riight now. A two-way contract at 1 M $ max would be more suitable. Maybe....

Drouin 14 point game confirmed
All goals of course !!!!

He hasn't disappointed me because this is about what I expected.

There is still hope if MSL wants to work with him. But if MSL has given up, no point in re-signing him. He won't learn on his own.

Who was he playing with when he was scoring and who's he been playing with since?

He is a defensive liability. But can MSL coach him into not being?
