I'm surprised that this is coming from you. The guy who never gave up all season when some were already jumping off the cliff. You were always staying positive.

I think he's just in need of a good old name change. Having Brassard attached to CBJ is probably bad luck and probably makes you angry when you see your own screen name... :sarcasm:

I haven't been positive about the Jackets for a while; but we're still in great shape. If we lose to the Islanders on Sunday; all bets are off.

All that this did tonight was make it an almost certainty that we playing the Bruins in the first round.

#NHL officials ruled the puck made contact with bench door or a glove/stick something on #CBJ bench, put faceoff deep in Columbus end.

1-12-1 in the last 14 home sellouts?

It's brutal, no question. But it should be noted that most of those sellouts are against great teams (and half of the crowd is rooting for the other team). It seems the quality of opponent and the pressure of a sellout does affect them, especially late.

I'm tired of losing to these $#@!$#@ teams with all the frontrunners in the seats. It's hard to even watch games against Chicago and Pittsburgh. When is the last time they beat either team at home.

Lots of fun in 116 with the hundreds of Hawk fans in my section - it sucks that almost every time the place is packed with opposing fans, the Jackets give the home fans the middle finger and lose (Detroit being the exception the last couple seasons). Going to be a tough grind to the end. Hope Winnipeg is able to steal one in Toronto tomorrow night.

Ben Smith's power-play goal with 3.9 seconds remaining gave the Chicago Blackhawks a 4-3 victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night.

The game appeared headed for overtime until the Blue Jackets received a bench minor with 21.9 seconds remaining for having too many men on the ice. The Blackhawks won the faceoff, controlled the puck and Smith was able to shovel a shot past Sergei Bobrovsky to break a 3-3 tie.

First recap up on nhl.com is a little off...

Why is the most important part of your comment missing?!?! **** im not an Ohioan but all this talk of them losing these "weekend sellouts"...really though how many of these games have had >50% of opposing fans in the rink...?? Serious question.

I'd root for the Quebec BlueJackets just as much...

Going to have trouble sleeping after this one, in such disbelief. How does this team blow so many games this season. Last year I was so sure any time that we got down we would find a way to win, this year I'm always expecting us to find a way to lose when we go up.

And it can't be rule 52. Rule 76.2 says "When the game is stopped for any reason not specifically covered in the official rules, the puck must be faced-off at a face-off spot in the zone nearest to where it was last played."

That's SPOT not circle. There's a dot right in front of our bench.

The Minny breezer goal where no one saw the puck cross the line was more fun than this... I’ve watched a lot of hockey in my day and can’t recall a team getting so many weird bad breaks as the Jackets…

I did see a goal through a hole in the net once… (a Flyer vs Hasek) that might be the worst break of all time though..

PRobably over-reactionary but I can't imagine a scenario in which we get in. I just can't. I'm calling it and I'll have fun watching the final 5 games just so I can get my fix until October.

Go Jackets

And you will obviously be cheering for the Leafs? Cause that seems to be all you have to say over on the mains. What happened to all of the *****ing you were pitching recently when anyone else questioned the play of the team and their likelihood of making the playoffs? Oh, so now Toronto is the apparently superior and deserving team and will win out while the lowly, vintage, same-old, same-old Jackets will hang their heads and slink, properly chastised, into their non-playoff, lowly, skill-less, heartless, on-the-outside-looking-in, proper position in the hockey universe. Well **** me for having more belief in the Blue Jackets than that!

It does make me question my sanity, inventing all these reasons to be emotionally invested in this team/sport when really, honestly, it's mostly about lucky bounces and lucky officiating.

It's Columbus - Haven't had a hockey team for years but we were surrounded by hockey cities and were getting transplants from all those cities as Columbus grew and the other places shrank. Columbus has a large base of fans, just a lot of them root for Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, Buffalo.

I hope it's just a matter of time and winning a bit so people are proud of the team, not embarrassed. At some point the Jackets fans will push out the other teams'.

No, **** the LEafs. I hope they get swept.

Where did I say same old Jackets? I am still confident they will be a great team in the future. I do think their age will show down the stretch and they won't push back as hard when they're the ones getting chased down. As people have said, this team is only comfortable when they're uncomfortable, and I know people can counter with "Well, if the Leafs win tomorrow they will be uncomfortable again for the Isles game." Which is true, but I don't think they handle the spot of being the chased instead of the chasers very well.

Go girl.... yeah, I'm not sure why anyone would count the Jackets out after this loss-they are still in the 8th spot and control their own destiny...

Actually, I'm more confused as to why Hinote and the coaches were chewing the fat with the referees instead of asking why the face off was in our zone. It was a coaching failure just as much as a reffing one.

Just back from the game... Swearing off going to Chicago games, did the same with Pittsburgh several years ago. Just can't take it. I'll eat my seats before I sell them to someone from either of those two teams. CBJ STH's need to quit trying to make a quick buck on these games. Same with the CBJ; should be no 25 rush on nights like this.

As for the game. Refs screwed up majorly by putting the faceoff in our zone. Richards also screwed up in my opinion by not calling timeout and organizing the D for the final 11 seconds. He admits second guessing himself on the post game presser. Been here since year 1 and this hurts more than any in recent memory.

For me this win would have been a break in the stress this end of season causes. It's sad I get stressed out over a game, but I can't lie, I do. A little breathing room would have been amazing, but again we leave ourselves with no breathing room. If the Leafs lose tomorrow this game is a wash, but with us pretty much getting no help at all from the top teams, I fully expect the Leafs to win a OT game 4-3 tomorrow.

So they got the spot on the face off wrong but it looked like too many men to me (from the chicago feed, the reply they showed sucked).

You guys saying it wasn't?

No way I sit right down the line of the benches in the endzone and guarantee it was not. Our guy actually jumps over the puck as he is climbing over the wall to the bench.

No, Bob, apparently the Jackets have to win EVERY dammed game, win out, or it's off to the links for them. 'Cause, you know, they are JUST the Blue Jackets. I don't know that I've ever been more pissed off by the comments of other posters than I have been in the last 45 minutes or so. Been a fan, and poster on this board for a long time and have had plenty of "white flag" moments, but they sure as hell weren't while we were still in a playoff spot!

Middle finger eh? How do you think THEY feel with all those mother ****ers in the stands. You guys act as if they should have some sort of advantage at home when the opposing team has more people in the rink. I'd argue that it actually has a negative effect.

Atkinson jumps on the bench to make sure there's no penalty - happened right in front of me - Boll or someone is holding him up from falling back out into the ice.

I thought I couldn't be more mad than I was after last Friday's game. I was wrong. I just...
