Did anyone else hear that story about Andy Greene on the Devils telecast? When Greene was a free agent after college, Bill Davidge - who was a Jackets scout before becoming a broadcaster - wanted the Jackets to sign Greene. Maclean wanted him but didn't make a phone call to Greene, Lou Lamiorello did, and you know the rest of it.

This is CBJ hockey. Hitting, not taking any ****, playing hard and some amazing goaltending by Bob.
No reason why this team can't by one of the best in the East when healthy.
What I think benefits the Jackets the most is their Western Conference style of play, it wears down Eastern teams who aren't used to that kind of physical, in your face style of hockey.

Was Davidge already a broadcaster when Greene was playing for the Redhawks? I'm just curious about the connection. I did find out that Davidge was a Jackets scout before that and was the Redhawks head coach way way back.

That was a classic c***********....horrible turnover in the offensive zone and then Savard and Johnson looking bad.....and before I can send this JJ does an about face.

We needed that.

How many times have we been the "inferior" team who got outshot, outworked, and yet still managed to win?

Well, tonight we were the better team. We won more face-offs, hit more, had more shots, more time of possession, etc. And yet the Devils tied it up short handed with only minutes to go. Despite this, the team came through and won anyways in short succession.

We needed this test. We needed to see what the young guys would do when they were the ones who should be winning yet didn't have things go their way.

What happened? They worked through it. They were tested, yet they still managed to come out on top. Am I disappointed that they gave up the shorty? Sure, but I think this was a great learning experience and am glad they battled through.

Got their heads out of their ass for overtime. Nice fake shot by Savard to pass to Johnson but nice play by Johansen before that.

Yes they redeemed themselves a bit. But Savard (and Johnson) let too many players behind them. Never should have happened on a PP up by one with a couple of minutes to play in the period.

You could see all the guys were laughing after the winner. I think it was because Savard and Johnson were the guys who royally f*d up to cost us the regulation win, and then made a great play in OT to redeem themselves.

Don't know if anyone noticed but we've been officially eliminated. Ahh, Sam noticed.

I'm so sick and tired of listening to all the interviews bemoaning our injuries this season. I know these guys are paid to spin things in a positive direction, but I'll be glad when that is over. We had a long losing streak when we weren't out of it when we were healthy enough to win quite a few of those games.

Yes it sucked and I'm glad we're starting to see more of the Jackets now.

As far as tonight's game; there was some evidence of our forecheck coming back; but I'd like to see more of that against better teams. I've felt some of our wins have been more about hot players and not about our style of play that has won it in the past. It's nice to out shoot a team.

Wennberg won 10 of 14 draws? Nice.

And the moral of the story was don't underestimate the value of little things like that, and (I wanted to add), never overestimate Doug Maclean.

soooo happy with getting a 7 game win streak at this time of the season :shakehead i hope jarmo make a move during draft day to move up

won't be worth the cost to move up, if anything, moving down might be a good option. we still can choose from Provorov, Werenski, Rantanen, Crouse where we are now. then maybe use our 2nds to sneak back into the late first round where good guys will inevitably fall.

in other words, i'm going to enjoy these wins regardless
