I think the defence is the part that is killing them most.It affects everything.I was ownership I am looking to find someone to fix this.Sweeney is in over his head as is Neely .I am not sure who but they need better smarts running things. But they probably look at it different then me and blame the players assembled

Every interview, every defense they use against helping this team by addressing the two holes is about 'sticking to the plan' and system. Fair enough.

Fans just need to get on board with that plan meaning 2018-2019 since day one in everything this management team has said and done. Four years. As soon as the holes weren't addressed once again people could have penciled in this annual choke if it wasn't for the coaching change to give false hope.

Disagree. Great Head of Player Development or Head of Amateur Scouting but has shown little to no ability to be a General Manager at the NHL level.

This was his shot. He once again gambled on patchwork and avoiding addressing the current teams needs in lieu of his 2018-2019 plan.

Telling you Coach he will not be around to implement that plan if they miss. Take that to the bank

I believe that was me who said that. I actually have a really incredible post I made about Hayes and Beleskey in my post history back when we first got them that has also been accurate.

Yeah I was not too keen on Hayes either and Beleskey would have been ok but overpaid.

Here's a photo that matches this disaster:

Best of the prequels.

I stand by that statement.

That one seriously hurt.

Every game was one that made sense. Oilers 2nd night of back to back, Oilers are not a good match. Leafs. Sens. Bolts. All had to have it.

The Bruins weren't able to meet that bar in any situation. Not all that surprising.

They are truly soft, mentality and physically. Goaltender right through. Their record in back to back games is horrible - you got the feeling they often accepted the "schedule loss" excuse. Says a lot.

I don't know how many years we have to watch this to accept there are guys that just don't have it...and there's enough of them make it the team attitude.

I feel bad for the guys like Marchand that have "it."

I think Rask has as much talent as any, but he just doesn't have the mentality. If anyone is fragile...

It's time to give him a fresh start.

They have to try to change the culture.

Kind of numbing at this point. Just feels like "oh yeah, it's happening again."

I didn't say anything at the time, but I felt that starting Rask on consecutive nights was a mistake. Now he is tired, with the REAL must win games coming up. A tired Tuuka is a below average goalie.

He could stand on his head and they still lose.To many holes and no one to fix them.

A 2017 Tuukka is a below-average goalie. He stole the beginning of the season but the pattern is pretty clear here:

1. Rask has to be on fire.
2. Pastrnak or Marchand have to be on a hot streak.

Nothing else matters. Nothing else works. Coaching change coincided with Marchand streak it seems because Cassidy looks more lost than Julien who at least kept the goals against to a minimum in his snoozers.
