Crosby's playoff legacy, while being great, has become overrated a bit.

Seeing McDavid besting Crosby on every level do make Crosby's accomplishments over the last 20 years a little less special.

It's not a huge margin, but it's there. As someone else said, Crosby is one step below big 5 territory. McDavid is the one who will make it a big 5. Best since Lemieux.

I'll pick McDavid for the overwhelming raw talent. But I have hard time understanding how Crosby can be overrated. Overrated compared to who?? Sid has accomplished everything, everywhere, more than once. He's a freakin' legend on and off the ice.

I think McDavid has more game-breaking talent. In today's game, I'd be comfortable taking him for a big game over anyone who's played this century except maybe Lemieux.

Crosby is like Trottier: He can do everything and is a guy you can definitely win with repeatedly. Not a bad choice at all for a must-win game.

But the only era where I'd really prefer having him over McDavid for a Game Seven is the Dead Puck Era.

At the same age Crosby had 114 points in 95 playoff games, McDavid has 117 in 72.

It’s McDavid and not overly close. The real “bar” or “internet” debate in upcoming years is McDavid and Mario Lemieux.

I think what we saw of peak Crosby was pretty close but scattered around injuries we didn’t really see it consistently enough to take him. McDavid just keeps doing too many special, record breaking things to not take him.
