I think it would be irrational, but this feels like a potential Severson healthy scratch because of the penalty.

I wouldn’t do it though. Smith was back to his stupid penalty again tonight, but we scored on that one.

There is a lot of concern trolling over alleged "concern trolling"

We are one of the most talented teams in the league and have an excellent opportunity to do something THIS post season, but not by playing like this.

Fans have every right to not settle for preseason expectations when the reality has clearly shifted, and people have a very real right to be concerned with how they are trending and how poorly some of our top guys look.

I'm actually pretty concerned about Bratt.

"shocking", I know.

Yes, but not every player triumphantly rolls through all 82 regular season games.

I’m not sure what’s up, and it’s a real concern, but not much more I can do than acknowledge that.

I’m certainly not going to get angry about it. We’ll just see how he is in April.

Agreed that it is deserved but Smith is just as stupid but his didnt matter.

Bahl shoiluld get in. Ruff has a few choices to remove.

Too bad our forward depth is a little thin right now with Bas and wood out. Draw in foote for someone? Hard to see Ruff sitting Hughes unless he is hurt or Bratt but they could use a game off.

I got a longgggg ride.

Have an offer to crash at my buddy’s, who lives only 90 minutes away from here, but out of the way for me.

I can’t leave my dog all night. My buddy’s wife stopped by to check on her earlier. She’s never spent a night without me coming home, even if it was 3:00 AM like some of these times.

Get to do it all again tomorrow!

Already looking forward to a few trips to the beer stand for my alcoholic best friend, who doesn’t make the games down here but comes with me to the Tampa ones.

We added Palat, Meier, and Lazar. What more do you want? There are only so many “physical” players that are actually good and fit our system. We have 95 points and are one of the best teams in the league.
Idk about that person but dont need an entire lineup of big bodies.

However, you preferably would want one bigger body and one forward whos solid on the boards on each top-9 line in the playoffs. Meier/Palat on one of two top-9 lines is good, and Hischier/Mercer/Tatar are solid board guys who wont get muscled too easily.

That leaves Hughes Bratt Boqvist Haula. Hughes.. duh. Bratt is good when skating along the boards but when it comes to digging out or physicality or anything without speed, hes not nearly as efficient. Boqvist is best in open ice and Haula is kind of soft tbh

So in a playoff world youd want one more bigger body (only Meier and Hischier above 6') and if its even possible replace Bratt with a Mercer/Hischier type. If we keep Bratt (very likely) then Tatar and Haula would be the two to go. Boqvist isnt going anywhere nor should he.

Our top-9 is very tiny on weight compared to most contenders and we dont have a true big guy (over 6'1" lol). Only Meier pushes 200 though Palat is thick for his weight.

So yeah, we probably do need to add some more size. Which isnt even a wild take considering the names you listed are only in the last year; you dont solve playoff physicality issues as a recently-rebuilding team in one year.

I’m a little confused as to why Foote was even called up? I didn’t realize he was called up until they showed him among tonight’s scratches in pre game.

I guess cause we have no extra’s?

Siegenthaler was junk again. We are going on what half the season he’s been good the other have he’s sucked? Which is the real siegs? If it’s the latter then that’s a major problem for the playoffs. When Dougie isn’t scoring he’s basically Severson. That pairing could easily get f***ing abused in the playoffs if sieganthaler doesn’t shape up.

Bratt continues to display why he’s not an easy fan favorite despite putting up numbers. If he wants to be consistently well regarded and get a big payday, he better show up big time in the playoffs. Enigmatic perimeter point producers who contribute nothing when they go into an offensive slump are not endearing otherwise.

If Hughes is playing injured that’s just dumb. What is the point, especially this close to the playoffs and we are sitting comfortable in a post season spot?

Throwing Meier into the middle of this and there being little to no opportunity for chemistry to develop is also not ideal heading into the playoffs.

I saw an article about the devils treating these last 15 games as a trial for the playoffs. So far it’s been a a big wet fart. Their tendency to have ugly episodes of puck mismanagement and poor defense already made me question if they can translate this regular season success into the playoffs. This recent stretch is doing nothing to alay that concern.

I’m guessing in case of injury.

We won 2 of our last 3 in this state before tonight lol.

We did have the win in Tampa the first time last year, but lost the next one.

Gillies played, so it doesn’t count.
