Nonsense. Down 3-2 after horseshit play and you want to get critical. That's just bullshit.

No mention of how we got down 3-2 after leading 2-0 going deep into the game... that's just a bullshit narrative.

There were plenty of call outs prior.

That said, I've been on Siegs case even more. I can't remember the last time he played a solid game start to finish. This was another really tough game for him. Dougie was pretty trash too. Honestly it was just a garbage effort start to finish by everyone not named Schmid, Mercer or Hischier. Boqvist honorable mention.

How in the world can anyone blame Schmid for this loss? The kid stood on his head and was the only reason we were in it. The first goal was a complete fluke. None of the goals were his fault IMO.

Why did we lose? Severson’s egregious and unnecessary penalty…just knew Florida would score on that after being 0 for 3. How about being completely flat with no legs? Their passing wasn’t crisp at all. Hughes line was awful…did nothing.

I have a milk bottle and Jesper Bratt is on it. Has anyone seen this guy? He’s been bad for way too long now. He’s played his way out of a ridiculous contract. I would not feel comfortable if I’m Fitz, signing him to an 8 x 8.5….not even so sure about 8x8.

Carolina, who’s just as finesse as we are and has similar problems with physical teams in the playoffs? That was a goaltending game on the plus end too, their guy sucked and our guy made ridiculous saves

Is Carolina considered a finesse team? This narrative/debate is hard to follow at times (because of how dumb it immediately gets).

This is a young team. Fitz didn’t expect it to do this well, and had a cap crunch, so he wasn’t even adding playoff pieces per se. Palat turned into a great playoff add obviously.

We have flaws as playoff team. No shit? You can’t them more than he did with his two additions.

At what point doing you consider just shutting Jack down for the season until the playoffs? He clearly isn’t healthy and he isn’t going to get healthier playing. I guess when they clinch is the answer. I think the division is getting out of reach.
Knowing what his injury was/is he maybe should have missed a bit more time

f*** I would bench Sevs and Bratt tomorrow. Send a message
I was told here we were past benching Bratt, even though it happened the beginning of last year lol

Dude definitely just needs to tell his agent to f*** off and sign already, the contract issue seems to be bothering him since the Timo trade a la Zach with Kovy

Someone’s blaming Schmid?

Agreed. Bratt needs to be sent a message. I’d sit him. Lazar wasn’t seen on the bench late in the game though…Foote could take him place but Bratt would have to play…unless they go with 7 D…and Smith, nor Severson, deserve to play tomorrow night.

One of the few positives besides Schmid tonight is the Meier-Haula-Boqvist line looking good. Boqvist has been awesome the last month.

jack skating is as good as it was before the injury, its the shot though that went missing. He's still getting a bunch of chances just like he was before, but he cant score to save his life anymore. Its gotta be the shoulder or maybe his wrist. He just cant seem to pick his spot and generate enough power with his shot anymore. This is very concerning with the playoffs coming. He was becoming a goalscoring machine before the injury and kept us in a lot of games with crucial goals.

Like someone else said, I fear it might be something that will require surgery eventually instead of something that can be fixed by resting him or else they wouldnt have him playing right now.

Fitting end there Severson.

I’m gonna go with the most positive take I can right: Get this mini slump out of the way now. And understand the intensity is only going to get higher.

We can diagnose a lot of things from the game. Bottom line is the 2022-23 Devils are not those Devils without Jack Hughes at full capacity. His line scores a goal tonight and he is himself it’s a whole different game.
