Is man to man coverage is not working. How many teams employ this system (as Marty would say, concept)

I think that next season will bring changes to our structure. We lack talent but someone is helping us be competitive because we are second last in the league for shots allowed. San Jose is ahead of us but we have 22 more points than they do.

If we get good goaltending we can compete. If our goaltending is only competent, it means almost a certain loss. Such is the current state of our re-build. Our thin level of talent provides little or no margin of error. Primeau lets in a few greasy goals against a mediocre Flames team and we were doomed.

The man-to-man coverage is also probably causing so many great chances against us? MSL mentioned that he wanted his young players to play to their strengths as they learn the NHL game before making it too structured with fears of hampering their growth.

I feel that we collapse too low in our zone and there is a lot of open space from the blue line to the circles which would lead to more shots. We need a defenseman who can make the breakout pass like the General used to feed Pacioretty with. Caufield would be the player that would really benefit from that.

Struble got into some tr_uble.
His game has fallen off a cliff from where it was.
The long season catching up to him perhaps?
The mental and physical grind of playing what?
Twice as many games this season...

Mailloux is a right d though?
I've envisioned a Reinbacher/Guhle top minutes pairing ever since we drafted the RD.
Anything less would be a fail IMO.

I think the plan is balance so probably Hutson with Reinbacher and Ghule with Mailloux unless protecting a lead late would be my expectation

This is my last week in Hawaii (Big Island).... had an awesome time here! 6 weeks was great for seeing everything.

Especially early afternoon Habs games!
Were you there on business? Always wanted to experience it. Six weeks is quite the stretch.

Someone I met online who worked for the US govt as a lawyer was in Hawaii (forget which island) for a trial and told me that after two weeks he got “island fever” and couldn’t wait to leave. I don’t know what he meant exactly as it sounds like a place you can really enjoy.

No, retired and visiting the big island (so much to see and do here). Was in Maui in 2019 before covid and loved it.

Life is just peaceful and slower here. Food and coffee are amazing!

Primeau really has this crazy pattern of being lights out one night and lit up the next. Really want him to get more starts to see if he can put together a couple of good games and then get into a groove. We need to see if he can at least be a back up.
