Man, if Detroit is doing a rebuild, it won't be for long. They have a number of young players (Nystrom, DeKeyser, Sheahan, Tatar, Mrazec, etc.) who look to be real keepers.

They have a great system.... but the key will be their goaltending..

I was thinking that too. But for right now it's all Blue Jackets. Could be one of the most important nights in franchise history (not that there is much competition ) Rangers & Philly lose;we win. The battle is on.

It's hugely important. If we're in the wildcard we're playing Pittsburgh or Boston in the first round, teams that have dominated us all year. But New York or Philly? We can handle them and hopefully build some momentum and use our deep bench in a later series against the top teams.

They traded a Calle Jarnkrok to Nashville for a rent a player in Legwand. I wonder if they were thinking, we have a lot of young talent, we can sacrifice a prospect plus picks for a up coming UFA to help us now. Must be nice.
